Thats the problem, I dont have anywhere to download to. I have my GPS and USB cable but no computer. Work is blocked and our new home PC is not set up yet. When Sam gets back it will be after May 31.
Bugger!!![]()
KA43,

"Duration of competition:
First results for the month of May need to be submitted to the Challenge Secreatry by the 31st of May. (This may not work as 31 May might be a great sailing day) or within 7 days."
put 'em in when he's back![]()
Thanks Wineman, just shows I dont read fine print or rules![]()
Crash, Im in North Ryde for work and northern beaches for home.
Hi KA
I work in Mona Vale if your cruising through around closing. If you give me a heads up I'm sure we can organize something. I've got GPS replay and RealSpeed loaded on my laptop but I've only used GPS replay for my downloads. Give me a buzz if I can help.
Jethrow
Hey Jethrow, that would be unreal. I live at Collaroy Plateau but come home down Mona Vale Rd. I could pop in around 5:30 tomorrow if that's OK??
Let me know.
Ta
Kyeemagh was pretty good yesterday, Chris doing late 28's and i managed a late 29. Stupidly let the connector at home so can't upload my tracks! By the sounds of things i don't need to upload anything before the end of the month anyway.
Crash, Good to hear that somebody got out yesterday. How did the new kinetic go? What size board did you get?
It's a Centurion 77, no idea what year it is! I picked it up from Reg at Windsurfing Perth for a bargain. He said he thought it was a 110ltr but I'm pretty certain it's more around the 125 as it's so stable!
Chris was telling me that I need some smaller fins, as the one that came with it is in the 60cm range. Hopefully a smaller fin will increase the speeds!
Certainly do need some smaller fins. 60cm is almost formula sized? You will probably need something around the 40cm mark?
hey Crash,
on my Falcon 111 which is 69 wide i use 44, 40 and down to 37 for the stronger days. Des has the same board so maybe check what fins he is using
Crash, I think thats my old board from around 2003/2004... It was a prototype. I used it with quite small fins, but probably ~40cm is good for it in moderate winds. Its a really fast board in 15 to 20kts... No slower than my smaller slalom boards at the time with a 7.6m. I got it to 34/35kts a few times. It was rather ordinary in light winds, and didn't work well with bigger than 8.0m... But powered up in 15kts, it was a weapon.
That could be why i can't find any info on it! It has had a decent repair job on the left/port nose section. Crazy big cut outs as well. Looks like it'll be great with my 6.8 and 8.1 race sails.
Any idea on volume?
Have just put results on the challenge website for Chris and myself from Tuesday. If anybody else has results from Tuesday email them through.
Hi KA
Guess I missed you last night. I had to bail out at 6 or else my wife wouldn't let me go out this weekend. I got the message that you had called but my boss didn't tell me what you said.
Do you want to try again tonight?
Jethrow
Hey Jethro,
I rang your work at 1/4 to 5 and the guy that answered said you had left for the night. I was still at work so figured you had to go.
Id like to try again tonight. Ill be there about 5:30 if thats cool.
Hi Grant
Yeah, let's go for it. I still have to be gone by six but it only takes a few seconds to do so no worries there. I'll tell Richie that I'm still here this time. Do you still want to e-mail it to Crash Landing or just e-mail it to your account?
Jethrow
Hey Geoff,
cool, Ill see you around 5:30.
Ill get you to email it to Crash so he can register it on the site.
Sweet.
Hey Crash, Jethrow downloaded my data last night for me. He has emailed it to you. Could you please have a look and if alls OK post it on the GPS challenge site?
Thanks heaps all involved.
Grant
I got your results from the 19th - is that right? There seems to be something unusual with the data - it looks like you sailed for over 12 thousand hours... So i will see what i can do!
Should be up sometime today.
Cheers
Ben
Hey Ben,
when Geoff downloaded it last night it did look a bit strange, plus there were tracks from last Sunday and the damn thing hasnt even been turned on since I sailed on the 19th. NFI.
Thanks for doing this. Our new home PC should be available soon, I hope. Then Ill need my hand held while I try and figure it all out.![]()
I have the day off as I'm heading to Thredbo. However... I won't be leaving until about 10 so will be rigging up in the dark, either at Fairlight or Narra Lake. Only problem with the lake is that my fin is over 50 cms long! Anyone fancy doing a super early one (and lending me a shorter tuttle fin)?
Im off to BrisVegas this weekend. Hopefully the wind sticks around till Monday?
Sam, How did the NP/JP conference go?
