Got out last night for a seaweed throwing session Was wet and i liked that part. Having lost a bit of weight spent most of my time trying to keep my boardies on and wedding ring from sliding off. Even managed to snap my watch band and court it mid air mid wave

Was better than nothing..Actually i got a reminder of how much fun sloppy waves can be.

Well its wet, its close for me but it is subject to loads of weed but its better than nothing. Actually its not that bad for the kids either as you can walk out most of the way.
Also realy mello with no hassling..

If your againest traveling it might be a good place to start with a bit of white water moving up from there? Not sure what level you're thinking staright away.

So judging by the gloomy reports, I guess I was the only one having fun today? Raced off after the exams and managed to get 1/2hr sesh b4 the winds kicked in. Wasn't big but was fun.

Is it just me or is the line up in the surf generally closest to the which ever entrance from the car park to the beach? I walked about 100m down and had a nice little bank to myself and same with a few others who were ripping it on the next bank.

Had one of the best mornings in ages !!! , lol i'm a kook, but was so much fun till around 8, perfect for my liking

I just know someone who lives in Hillarys who told me it maybe accessible for me, as she knows somebody in a chair who uses that beach often... it's all about keeping your options open at the end of the day I suppose.....

G'day... Unfortunately, we are heading into the shallow, straight dumper season for Mullaloo - it's very tidal and can be quite shallow for a long way out. Having said that, on occasion if the tide is full it can have some softer rollers that may suit you.

From the main carpark to the water's edge is about 120m or so, and for the most part the path is just soft sand... the southern car park is closer to the water and less of a hill... Google Earth it to get an idea...

You are learning young grasshopper

<EDIT> Thank f@ck, a new page

Learning from the best in you blokes eh

So the summer rent-a-crowds begin. Where 3 people out suddenly becomes 9 with all of them beginners. Where paddling out is survival mode as the girls throw their boards away when a bigger wave comes through. Only had 1 decent ride in a 2ft'ish choppy morning that got cleaner. That was the last straw and I admitted defeat for the day.

The trade off: bikini babes for beginners and summer waves. Is it worth it?

It's always worth it!
The only time it's not worth it is when you get hurt or your break your board. Otherwise, any excuse to get salty.

So the summer lull is really starting to kick in. Got an exam today so giving it a miss, fingers crossed for tomorrow. Indo in two weeks (haven't booked) then driving up to Gloo then Exmouth when I get back. Not so much for the waves but for a much more fun activity! haha

Had a great session this morning, started off waste high then the swell kicked in some and ended up nearly head high on the sets. Cross shore wind but faces were nice and smooth, just a little lumpy on the drop for the first wave of the set. All in all, very happy!

How were the beaches?

5hit.

Went to Cott for a coffee and to sit down and study (fail) and Coves was complete and utter crap...ofcourse.

Shark spotted in the swimmer's side of the wall. Two choppers came to 'scare' it off.

hey guys I went out for a bash at Mettam this morning, but look at that swell graph! She's just building! Might go down for another bash. Nice to see a few little spikes even though we're normally getting no waves at all around this time of year.

True true Suba. But surfings my way of dealing with the stresses in my life. I find sitting out with 20 other people bunched up next to you is just not the same.

Guess it's 5.30 mornings paddling out then!

Trigg was really lumpy and messy this morning with just one desperate out. Heaps of weed as well, suba would have loved it.

I was one of the desperate ones. Just of seconds change rooms and got a few waves but it was really rough in between so called it after only a hour or so

There was a few other guys around me though up and down a bit.

Surfed seconds today. Was real messy and ugly but if you waited and stayed patient you got rewarded with the occasional clean lump. Surfed there for a couple hours, then some work up at Fisheries and a quick sesh at Coves on the way home...Coves definitely not worth going in.

Surf's up this morning, light offshore and a two metre swell. The banks at Trigg have some shape with lefts and rights but it was getting busy. I think it'll get better later with a bit more tide and the swell should kick in some more too.

5:00am?! I just don't understand how you guys can function that early - let alone surf well...

I have done a couple of dawn sessions in the past and find that I just can't get going and find that I kook too many waves and just get frustrated with myself...
