The fact that noone kited over and jumped on 1 of the kites doesnt speak well for the peeps there on the day.

Yeah, kiting over to the accident and jumping on one of the kites would have helped.. lol That is the most retarded thing i've read in a while..

Ok Dan , so explain to me how this is retarded. And how it wouldn't of helped.

And how out of all the crap in this thread you pick the above as the "Most retarded thing you've read"

I tell you what , anytime you want to bring a kite ,ill be glad to hook your steering line under your chicken loop watch you fly off downwind then go jump on your kite and see how retarded you think it is then.
Geez.

I tell you what , I can vouch from personal experience. Retarded is the last thing your going to be calling a guy/girl who jumps on a kite thats trying to drown you.

No one would would attempt to jump on a death looping kite.. You wouldn't.. It's just dumb.. ok

all you gotto do is grab a wintip or one the center bridal lines itll naturally just flag itself out and be reduced to zero power/pull. very very safe. the dangers only in the lines once you have a firm understanding on how/why a kite flys or has power its very easy to reduce it to zero power.

No wind this week, thought I should browse SB....... Found this.

OP is in the right, but we all knew that.
I can find it written in maritime law if you want me too...... In fact..... At 10am tomorrow I'm gunna get it posted up

100% original poster is in the right.

He needs his money back and you don't belong in this sport if you bullied him into paying for your gear.

To the girl..... Your bloke is a total knob. But if that's your thing then that's your thing. ......
But if my daughter married a dropkickr, I'd wrap their first child in gladwrap and kick it over my back fence!!

To the girls boyfriend-
If you wanna play macho then take up boxing. You are more to blame than anybody and you made the whole situation worse. I wish I was there coz I woulda put you in your place just coz you acted like a dick!! You might wanna find a new girlfriend, coz when your girlfriend roots properly there is little interest in fighting. Obviously you deleted your post coz you realised how much of a dick you looked like. Lucky your girl told you to take it down. Sadly, doing as your girlfriend says is incredibly un-australian, and if anything, that will have you departed back to the eastern block.

I have a feeling that Rushin might be Russian??

YOU NEED TO REIMBURSE (that means 'pay for ' )those lines! ....

I say name and shame this banana and let's as a community refuse to sell him replacenent kite gear until he pays back what's owed for the lines.

To Simon.
Dude, this sport is filled with good people. I'm sorry that you had to meet one of the few knobs. Your in the right bud, she shouldn't have been behind you. .... Yes, you did tomahawk her, but that's what beginners do.
If it happens again, check if she is pretty and try emergency sex. (You can google that one)

Simon, thank you for dropping g your kite. You've given us some great reading material and some fantastic laughs at this angry kook rooter..... And nobody likes a kook rooter!! Lots of love, the seabreeze community!
Xxoo

PS. ... Dude.... Seriously.... You gotta grow a pair!!

And Geili..... Call me!!!
(Guessing your going to be single very soon, so its was worth a shot)

Distance between kiters has played a big part of this total shamozzle.

People should stay away from learners as they are unpredictable and will drop a kite without warning. Especially when they hit Mach 3 flatboarding in a straight line and don't know how to stop by edging.

Next time stand up for yourself and grow a set.. Don't be intimidated.. If he punches you, report it to the police after taking his rego down.

Alternatively back yourself and get in early with a straight jab if you think he's looking for action. Or another option if things are going pear shaped is to pick up your board and shove the end of it in his face and scream 'BANZAI' at the top of your lungs. This will show him who's boss and snap him out of his attitude.

Hope you learned a lesson from this and don't let it put you off kiting.

Had to requote this for hilariousness. You crack me up mate.

I had a beginner (who I always stay well clear of) run straight into my lines on my way to shore. I pulled my safety instantly and told him to instantly do so too as he was getting tangled in my lines. He was too much a beginner to do that and was lucky not to get into more trouble.
I gave him a piece of my mind afterwards and checked my lines for any damage. Luckily they weren't but if they had I would have most certainly asked him to replace the lines.

Well,... , i did meet a fellow by the name of Rushin at Currumbin on the weekend. Seemed like a nice guy.. Very sheepish thou talking to some of the locals.
Didnt sense any arrogance. Didnt see the girl friend.. and sorry, i didnt mean to keep the thread going.

That was the best vid ever. Solid argument in favour of the GoPro.

And this is the best thread ever, not gunna apologise for keeping it alive.
