Yes you are right Simon life lesson is most important. Look unfortunately none of us hear that kinda thing unfortunately . You were bit busy with your kite but thats ok. There s no need to lie here. You are always welcome here and to appologies her. Maybe she did nt hear it or me either. So there is always way out to solve the problems. Maybe people are right maybe i am the only way who has faulth on this. Lets finish this conversation bcuz she reads it and gets up set. There is not we can do expecpt learn our lesson.
Thx Everyone for your comments. We all prove ourselves.
From frame by frame of the video:
Guy upwind clearly jumped without checking for space to land and subsequently landed his kite in front of downwind kiter when he crashed.
When collision happened, video has been clearly edited.
What was chopped out?
Why did you feel the need to edit it?
Also looks like there was time and distance for downwind kiter to steer downwind and around the kit.
In my opinion, to really resolve the situation and close off the topic, you should think about sharing the costs, in other words pay him back half of what he paid for your lines. Next time share some beers and kiter antics. No better way to learn from listening to experienced kiters.
Bra, it does sound funny that you were teaching your Mrs to kite in an area that is not usually for learners. Then you blame some guy for learning upwind of where you are teaching your Mrs. Then she Kooks out and gets dragged. Then you wanna punch oldmate because your learner Mrs Kooks down wind of where you say learners should not be. Good on ya champ.
If it was me I wouldn't have apologized. First rule of any accident is not to admit fault. I would have told you that you had nothing to do with the incident, and that your Mrs is a kook because she wreaked my gear.
ST11 seems like a nice soft bloke. Think your self lucky.
#Kook
First of all I really appreciate for everyone who help us out and support her on that day!!
Honestly I totally agree with everyone who commented. If I hear the story from him and half of it. I would blame her as well.
Well Well!! It didnt suprise me that you blame her after all. But I dont blame u bcuz If I had personality just like you had, I'd blame her too and if u were honest man u would write down the whole story :)
There is video all welcome to watch it. I am open to any comment, no matter positive or negative. We all learn by our mistake.
Yes I'm her boyfriend and I could sound like bully and a wanker on last Sundy but I could ve been someone more dangerous IF something happened to her. Thankfully she was ok. I hold myself really hard I was quite calm thx to my mates and I knew it was accident. I am sorry and appologies to your FAMILY (NOT YOU) if I show any disrespectful action or over react.
That accident wouldn't happened if Simon had proper kitesurfing lessons and basic knowledge of area. He has been there few times so I suppose he should ve known where to kite and stop or simple ask locals where he had to go and practice and etc.
Simon was continually kiting through the middle of what is respected as the launch/land area instead of being towards the southern end where all the other learners are that keep them sort of out of the way of the general kite and windsurfer traffic.
Geili has only been kiting for 3 months more or less and is still in the early phase of being able to ride in both directions, by no means competantly and still experiences many crashes herself. She is just between begginer and intermediate line.
Simon was on the upwind side of another kiter Geili who was kiting through slightly downwind and behind the learner kiter who suddenly lost control of his kite and dropped the kite immediately in her path where there was zero time for her to do anything but to try and stop and avoid running into or going over the top of his lines at speed.
Unfortunately there was no time to turn around as it all happened in an instant which then caused her to crash her kite as she run into his lines and then the kites became entangled in each other.
Her lines snapped b4 death loop started bcuz Andrey (Guy with core kite) got tangle with her kite while he was trying to save her. Thx Andrey!! Unfortunately I couldnt meet him personally but if u read this pls concact us for up coming event to thank you and everyone else.
There is my suggestion to him;
If you are still learning, in future try to avoid learning right through the middle of the main traffic section of kiters and windsurfers where it is not them that should try to avoid you just because your a learner. It is you who should avoid them.
As Kiters and Windsurfers are out there enjoying themselves, they are not necessarily focussed on you being a learner or identifyimg as such which might be something in your mind. Once again it is not up to them to avoid you but for you to avoid them.
If its busy then perhaps you should find another location where it is more user friendly for you to gain your experience. This is not all the other Kiters problem or responsibility but yours.
If your still stuggling away with things, then perhaps you should seek out a GOOD Instructor to help you out with things and your kite control.
And next time if you got into situation like this, be man go and ask the person you have hurt! "I am sorry for the accident but **** happens" I am glad that you look ok but do you have any other injuries? Is there anything you can help with? "
Bcuz she having trouble breathing when she lays down. Her rips got squeezed while she was mega looping with your kite.
You dont have to say thank for bring your kite one peace with damage, instead of leaving there. Say thx Kyle for that who hold me hard to not pull your kite a part.
You have nice wife bcuz she s done what you had to do.
You must be thankful instead writing this **** down.
I appreciate all comments no matter good or bad. Everyone has own opinion and we appreciate it.
Why the edit? That the incriminating bit, was it?
Wait, Andre the Core rider caused your lines to break? Did he replace them?
And theres your problem -- it IS your responsibility to avoid beginners. Rule of the sea (and everywhere else) -- the more maneuverable gets out the way.
Remember in the movie fight club when Ed Norton and brad Pitt ended up being the same person, just saying....... Anybody? Anybody?
Can you please upload the part when the kite is death looping and she is getting the ride from hell, my pop corn is nearly finished in the microwave.
ha ha comical. Watched a little bit of the video even though a beginner a nice dirty loop of the kite may of saved all this at the end of the day we have all been a beginer with white knuckles at some stage :) you should never pay for any ones gear unless you have borrowed it and broke it. everyone partakes at there own risk. i find it rude of someone to ask for you to pay or them to pay yours if the shoe was on the other foot im sure one would like for there stuff be paid for but may also be gratefull no one was hurt.
Hey who is that kozzie bloke .sounds like the narrowneck enforcers should pay him a visit.give him a touch up and tell him to give back that blokes money and apologize to the kiting fraternity for being an egg.we dont need bullies or cowboys in our sport.
Forensics upon viewing the evidence finds both parties guilty of not being spatially aware of their surroundings and acting accordingly to ensure everyones safety.
Thankfully nobody is injured.
Put it down to experience and dont bring aggression to the beach boys and girls ![]()

I noticed this too, all this video before and after, but the moment of impact, the really critical bit, has been edited out..... I want to see the uncut version. Even the image provided seems to paint a different story than that described...

So like in most car crashes, was tailgating a main cause of this accident?
Melville Beach in WA on the weekend is kind of like getting 100 learner drivers in a paddock with no instructors in the car and saying go for it.

Simon may have been in the wrong spot, but someone should have asked him to move.
Instead your missus tailgated him out... its absolute suicide to tailgate a noob and also be slightly downwind (at least enough to run over their lines).
For me, your girlfriend is clearly in the wrong and should be replacing her own lines and buying Simon a 6 pack for his troubles!
Just because a car is illegally parked doesn't mean you can crash into it, sometimes you need to use some initiative.
Important thing to take from this is .. never release a kite thats attached to someone elses kite.
Only time to do that is when you've both spoken and decided its the only way out and your going to release together.
The fact that noone kited over and jumped on 1 of the kites doesnt speak well for the peeps there on the day.
Rest of it is just sad.

When she was drowning?
Hey been kiting about a year and a half. feelthe need to weigh into this one. I recently went to shearwater only a few weeks ago on a big trip through Queensland. im quite competent but being in a new place wanted to take it easy. Went there because a quick search of safe, beginner friendly places talked it up!
Upon getting there was AMAZED to find I was clearly the most experienced kiter there. There was at least 5 begginers walking back and forth up that narrow beach and drifting down wind sequentially. While I was there at least one guy stuffed up a regulation assisted launch and ended up in the trees. Another disappeared downwind never to be seen again. My point is when so many beginners are around on a super narrow, fairly short, tree surrounded, high current stretch of water I was genuinely surprised more horror didn't occur that day. On the way back to the camp I passed KFC, way more packed with experienced dudes but with shallow, still water I would have much preffered to go there.

The tide was probably wrong. Thats why there would have only been a few beginners there. Shearwater is very tide dependant. The tide moves the opposite direction at kfc because its the other side of the seaway. Tide direction doesnt matter much at all at kfc.
Kfc is alot smaller area than shear and beginers do get in the way and get told to go to shearwater.
I recomend staying away from kfc untill you can at least kite comfortably up wind.
A simple down-loop/tack and the whole incident could have been avoided.
These is grounds for deportation alone.
^ Best pic ever glendog!

Hahahah cheers buddy
Chris, im going to make you my boyfriend.
I look like you are a receiver, so this relationship should work out fine.
If everybody knows you're with me you'll be safe
The only for certain thing that comes out of this incident is that two beginners with limited skill sets crashed and that Geili should get a new boyfriend.

Maybe she is into tossers? Its her choice dude.
Thx to fellers who try to show me as a terorist or one of those habib family member :) But it made laugh, I give you that. No need to worry bcuz I am ordinary person who cares about people around him.
I was only trying to explain how I felt on that day. If I cause any misunderstanding sorry, my apologies!!! As u said English isnt my first language, unfortunately its my third language and maybe thats why i couldnt make myself clear enough. I had to delete it due to making my misses upset. She had enough already tho. Unfortunately she isnt like me, She takes it quite seriously.
I probably ll make you quite disappointed Mr 69, saying that its just a bit late for deport progress I suppose, bcuz once upon time your Gov (mine too) needed my help and call me over and gave me citizenship of Australia. Maybe i am not a true blood Aussie but i love this country just like you or most likely, even more than u do and I am so grateful. But you may still go head and try and who knows maybe you ll be successful and of course if you have plenty time to waste :)
An additionally I wasnt only talking about my anger, I was also talking about the good stuff that we all kiters have. I wonder why didn't you pick those words up instead??!!! An again "BUT" as usual you always take the things as the way you want to :)
But its all good! I am quite peaceful myself thats why i dont give a stuff what are you guys on about :) If I was you I would spend more time kiting instead locking yourself on comp. Unfortunately I am stuck at work :((( Has anyone out there wants to work for me i cant wait to hit the beach.
Btw the topic goes Epic I quite ejoy while Iam reading it heehehhe
Hmm I remember it was Julie!! She made the mistake :)) so blame her for this :) Just bcuz of her you have to put up with idiots like me :))) Thats not fare ![]()
Really sorry Mr 69
Sounds like "rush in air" is "rushing out" and doing a great job of back pedaling from ... "my mind switch off" to "im quite placid"
Mate i think youll be placid once your sorted...
Ide like to know if it was such a big deal why did you keep video ing and not go to help?
And all that extra time your edited out... you still didnt go to assist... come to my local and pull that **** i know someone that wil go black on you. And yes your mind will be switched off.
Maybe you should give back half the cash.
That's what I mean Glendog. Any more than were there and it would have been a clusterf***! Not surprised something happened. Your right about the tide though, but the info I had was it was safer on an outgoing tide than KFC but in the NEaster it was way different beast.
She was only being dragged after he released his kite ... watch the video
I know the point you were making.
Suggesting that the only first reaction to getting your kite tangled with someone else is definitely to not release the kite and try to start up a conversation?
With experienced kiters that can work in a lot of cases, but with beginners, you might lose the opportunity to release, or the safety system may be getting too twisted to work, during the delay.
Just sayin - it's not a cut and dried situation. Beginners are not always capable of assessing risks in an instant.

Now now Tiger. Don't get Citizenship mixed up with permanent residency. Hey the mining boom is gone. And so should all the blowins.
To get citizenship you need to live in AUS for a minimum of 10 years. Then you have to take a test. Let me tell you champ, your English would not pass. So don't try and fool people on here.
The only way you can bypass all this is if you are one of those boat people.
BTW I'm one of these guys with a southern cross tattoo on my neck, and a F Off were full sticker on my car. I am up to date on immigration law as I have been campaigning to keep persons such as yourself (not a good choice of AUS) on the other side of the border.
If you weren't scared of being deported then you would not have taken what you said down. Then just to try and turn things around you started writing some kind words to save face. There are only two reasons you would take that stuff down. 1. You are scared of being deported.(then you tell everyone that you are a citizen so they may not be bothered to send the link to immigration). 2. As you say your GF wanted you to. This reason makes you look weak and gutless. Be a Man. Say what you are going to say. Don't let your root dedicate what you say and do. Grow a pair son.
