Reading the MA "next generation" do-it-all foil promo does that mean the HA, HS and CFV2 hydrofoil wings are old and obsolete? Lately I've been noticing higher than usual sales of used Armstrong foils.

I guess that the MA Series is a bit like an update/evolution to the HS series. It will not substitute the CF foils, maybe a lot of guys who were not quite in the game for an HA foil will be better suited with the new MA foils. Evolution and development will always be a thing. I love that everything is still downward compatible. My 3 or 4 years old windsurf-fuselage can still be used with the latest mast and wings. Not a lot of companies can say that and to me, that is value.

I doubt that's the case at all. It's just another splitting of the various rabbit holes we can all wander down.

I see a lot of bigger guys and folks just getting started benefiting from what the CF and HS range offer in both performance and use market value.

MA800 Just landed...

Looks like a very thin HS wing with HA curves (tips are slightly turned up). Looking forward to giving this a go when the wind comes back.

Looks good. I'll be getting mine on Friday--will have a look at the 1000 as well. Yesterday was our last day of good wind on Maui for a little while.

Yep, like you we're looking at Kona's on Monday as our only hope for next 7-10 days. Might have to check out the Leeward side to give this a try.

Any overlay comparison pics? From HS/HA line is against a HS850 or HA925.

Looks like there is a lot going on profile wise both lat and long. man let us know how it goes. Quite a lot more HA in that design than the prototype we looked in a month or so back when armie was here - which looked more like a thinned out HS. A HS with the new CF v2 thinness. Im really glad they moved it closer to HA end of the spectrum.

I know that the CFv2 was a stop-taking-the-piss moment for many, especially for the prone community, but I think Armstrong was able to ascertain that a low-aspect foil, with the right amount of thickness (thinness) and appropriate camber line, could still be capable of a lot more than just getting a beginner on foil. The 1200v2 didn't last long in my quiver but the 950v2 stuck around until a few weeks ago--super playful in small surf, at least for winging. We're in for a real treat if the marketing blurb is anything to go by.

MA takes everything we've learned from the HS, HA and CFV2 ranges and delivers a truly next-gen combination of glide, low stall speed, intuitive carving and instantaneous breach recovery. These foils offer the best of all worlds to experienced riders in every foil sport.

I'll be picking up my 800 tomorrow (and maybe 1000). Photos to follow.

Adam Bennett's rode the 800 with new mast in Fiji and commented that it didn't have the glide or pump of the Cab but it surfed much better ..I'm thinking I'll have to wait until the HA line is revamped cause I'm pretty happy with current HA and don't want to lose any performance except a little more low end would be good.

I've tried almost every Armstrong wing on the market and have a 795 mast and MA 1000 on order. In my opinion nothing compares to the old trustie HS 1050 for smashing surf from 1.5 to 5 foot prone. It will want to be good because that will be my last one that I get suck into again. I love my HS 1050

Interesting .. we will have to wait and see I suppose how it performs for the average joe - adam bennet is in a different class to most of us. Look you can't get passed the laws of physics. Nothing is gonna glide and have the speed of those HA wings. I'd definitely consider the mast though - might unlock a whole new aspect to your HA wings and I predict will circumnavigate some of the low end problems - as the mast glides more is faster which all add up to more HA low end tolerance.

LOL True but if you exit with speed it's still ok to get next one or one after even at 95kgs

Got my MA 1000 - weird profile across all axis. Never seen anything quite like it.

Compared to 1250 above. Top Pic compared to 725. Be good if it was a 925 but silly me sold that sucker.

I am/was thinking the same thing. The 935 has really taken the 725 to an entirely new level. I picked up the MA800 out of curiosity and with the intention that I might not keep it. After listening to reviews, I'm actually thinking I might be better served by sticking with the 725 and adding a 50cm fuse to my kit.

The MA sounds killer but I'm not sure about going from the speed and glide of the 725 to something with less. Might make more sense as a transition from HS wings or to replace larger HA wings, but I'll have to try it and see for myself lol.

Ah I think you Ha guys are in a different class. Kudos to you. But for us mere mortals I think the MA will be a winner. Hopefully get out on my 1000 in the next few days. Will report back.

Wishing I had my MA800 for todays 2M and HA725 session!! I'm hoping it will allow for more confidence inspiring cutbacks and hacks on downwind bumps. 725 can really crank, but it's so fast in bumps that it will easily overrun or end up on the back of a bump, plus it is a bit demanding!
I'm with Oskar on the 1050 love. Won't ever sell that one. If these can turn like that and allow pump outs prone and good bump riding DW.I'll be frothing so hard.
Flat breach recovery sounds freaky good. Like better be ready on a breach because that board may be coming back up at ya! No noodle legs if you like your knees.

How do you plan on using the 925 vs. the 800? Or I should ask, how do think about uses cases if you have both these foils? Or too early to tell?

Too early to tell but I think the 925 will remain as my light-wind foil, even if the surf is good. The extra pump and glide will keep me up and get me back to shore with less effort.
