Looks good Gestalt. It will interesting to see it in action. Maybe a SEQ team weekend at burrun might get us back infront.

Can't believe the damage you did nebbian. Didn't look like you went over the hard.

Hey QldSalty,

It wasn't that catapult that did most of the damage, it was the accumulation of 18 months worth of learning, combined with many, many bodgy repairs...

Both sides of the nose had no tension-strength at all, which meant that the rigidity of the nose was woeful. Not surprising really that it did what it did.

Hopefully the new shape will be a bit stronger

That explains it, seeing all that carbon in the construction, I was surprised that so much damage was done.

Saturday hey, I might bring my 111 board up for an Easterly and see what we can do for the 1 hour or something like that.

Hey Gestalt , that board of yours doesn't have concaves does it?

has an entry concave.

then follows into the channel step (CS). just like my formula board, speed board and every other slalom board pete has ever built me.

works a treat.

Put up a photo of the bottom if you have time. I'd be interested to see what it looks like.

Me too! I can't see how a board that wide can be classed as a speed board, but the proof will be in the pudding I think. It certainly looks like it will be a sweet ride, anyway

Those yellow arrows are back... (they were red before)

Anyone want to give me a hand to sail 100km on Saturday? Looks like my blue sweetie-pie might just be back on the water by then...

Got to get those crow eaters off the top of one table, at least!

Not good Gestalt, and after all that work you did on the spreadsheet too!

I take it you've checked all the obvious things?

I could use this moment to say something about a little company in Cupertino, California but that would be a low blow. Data loss isn't a laughing matter

Do you think you've lost much?

Getstalt, I hope you had a backup If you did'nt make sure you install a 2nd hard drive and back up to that regularly. If you are using XP, there is NT backup on the install CD. Don't know about Vista. I've got a spare drive if you need one.

hi guys, i have a backup from about 2 months ago.

so i lost a lot of data. windwanderers, work, family stuff.... bugger bugger bugger... i am going to try and fault find with a multi meter. wish me luck!

good news is that the spreadsheet is the only thing i still have. it was at work.

i have almost finished it and some testing has proven all good. it's the bee's knee's.

once it is finalised i'll make it available to all.

If you guys are going for a 100 klms tomorrow I'd better get on the water early, I have to stop sailing about 1.30. May the force be with you

So, you up for it Fitz?

I put some spray putty on today, board looks a bit average but should be watertight. Anyone from the team reckon they get on the water, so the session counts?

I went spastic with the sewing machine today, made a custom GPS-holder for my arm, zipper, velcro, elastic, tulle, the works. Don't want to have another session with crappy data

Banking on an early start tomorrow as well [}:)]

I'm planning on hitting the water by 9.30 and getting 4 hours sailing in. The forecast is for 15-20 knots so fingers crossed, I've gotta give this Koncept a workout and I have borrowed a 103 Flow as well....I feel the need.....the need for speed

What size KA Koncept is it? And what size fin you got for the flow? On the boards forum they say this:

Fin size = (5 x sail size in m^2) + 2cm.

Seems to work for me, last time I was out with a 7m I did a back to back comparison of the 31cm and a 37cm fin on my flow, the 37 was faster by a country mile...

= (5 x 7m^2) + 2cm
= 35 + 2cm
= 37 cm.

Man you've lost me the sail is a 6.6 and the fin is a pointy slalom
