Hi Nebs im thinking of a morning session as well mate before work
.
The only prob will the wind be up that early
.
ta Vando
How's everyone's crystal ball looking for tomorrow morning?
Do you reckon we should postpone it till Wednesday and be sure of that big southerly coming through?
Can only get one morning off this week...
Wednesday looking the goods since we need low tide
Is there another location at hightide for the arvo ??
increasing rain again tom doesnt look good.
If its not blowing by 6.30am im going to work hoping to catch an arvo session at manly.
normally i miss these events due to work....![]()
the flu that keeps on keeping on will mean that i'll be home one day this week looking after the sick kids. with high tide at 5pm there may be an option for some fun after the change of shift. ![]()
don't have any speed gear for 35 knots so i'll be on the fish and the 5.3 kult. [}:)] might use the winch to rig it.![]()
gotta go to noosa on the weekend for a kids party. the better half suggested i should get a saturday arvo session and sunday morning session at lake cootharabah!!!!
forecast looks good at this stage. she's one in a million........
anyone keen for the lake?
Lock it in Eddy, early morning sail at Vicky Point on Wednesday. If anyone wants to help me fend off the sharks then feel free to turn up ![]()
Nebs, count me in, but you'll have to stop talking about those finned things otherwise I wont get in the water. ![]()
i love how VP is shark central. if only we knew we were in the middle of a feeding event. ![]()
fitz... the lake it is. i'll send you mail closer to the day.
i think pete will be joining us too! so we can swap boards, sails and everything else.
just thought i'd add.
this thing is moving north, have you guys checked out the sunshine coast graphs???? ![]()
![]()
![]()
fitz, i'll get pete to bring some small koncepts. 6.6, 5.8 and 5
well haggar,
if it's w33 rated another 14 knots and it's gone.
if it's w41 rated another 30 knots and it's gone.![]()
so what size sail you using tomorrow![]()
Its blowing its ass off here at the moment, the whole house is swaying.
4.8 is my smallest sail. Have fun guys, see you at the lake sat Gesty.
Cheeky sail before work... overpowered on a 5.0... first sail in a month... suspected cracked rib... HELL YEAH!!! ![]()

Epic day for the wrong reasons
Unrolled my 5 metre that I had'nt used since xmass when I had a huge stack and found the top batten broken.
Hmmmm must inspect gear more carefully. Oh well had to use it anyway. Got a bit close to the bank looking for some flat water to bear away on. Found a sand bank at over 30 knts. I reckon I had the longest catapult ever and should be in the guiness book of records. I remember thinkin - I'm glad I wore my helmet !!! After the slam ![]()
![]()
I could not move my left leg and there was a huge lump on the back of my calf muscle. Thought my leg was broke. After a few minutes feeling returned and the lump went so must have been a muscle spasm. My loft boom looks like an S bend, so time for a new one. ![]()
The broken batten wore a hole in the batten pocket, so now need a sail repair. ![]()

Vando hooked across the corner of the bank and got some good peak speeds going broad, but the chop looked pretty scary. Thought about following him but not quite ready for that yet.
Anyways did a 32 knt max which I think is my best in QLD so well worth the effort. ![]()
good to see you guys 'suffering' for your craft and well done Haggar for taking one for the team mate ![]()

Well done on the PB Haggar, I wish I had my GPS with me so we could post some times on the challenge site! I hope Gestalt gets out thisafternoon so your times count.
Those banks bite, especially when it's not fully low tide, they're pretty shallow for a long way out... but I guess you know that now.
Also top job Vando, especially with an asymmetric that was for the wrong tack! Unbelievable.
I was waterstarting and got hit by a 35 knot gust at just the wrong time, my harness hook slammed into the board and I think that's when I hurt the ribs. Got a ding in the board from it as well
But the smile on my face from finally getting some time on water? Priceless ![]()
I know Fitz went to GB so fingers crossed for the team as well.
Now if we can just have these conditions every weekend we'd get used to them ![]()
how awesome was today.
30-35 knots with gusts pushing near 40. went out on the 5.3 wave sail and the 95lt fish with a 20cm wave slot. it was pumping. i was so overpowered!!!! should have been on an 85 lt board and 4m sail (which i don't have)
only managed 3 back and forths before the battery died in the gps so i got a 25 something on the gps.
to be honest, today was out of control. even 4.2 sails were killing people. i am still smiling. don't really think i went any faster than 26-27 knots.
today is why i love windsurfing. farrkk it was awesome. i was so out of control,
couldn't sheet in. couldn't gybe. couldn't keep the board on the water and couldn't stop ![]()

just checked the weather station... it's backed off a bit. only gusting up to mid 30's now. ![]()
bugger,
just read back through the posts. hope you guys shaped up ok. not good to see an injury list and broken gear.
hope all is well.
or hold him down and tickle his elmo.... oops i mean tickle him elmo!! ![]()
well done on the pb's haggar. you got us into 6th place.
Well done Haggar, too bloody wild up here, I had a sail on Pete's 70 ltr wave board with 4.2. Out of control, he has his lines way shorter than me, footstraps too tight etc. Wiped out and twisted my foot in the straps ouch, I needed the 3.7 I used to have in the UK. Hope the rib heals soon Nebs.Weekends looking good if I can walk again.
