Stupidly went out in 25-35 knots with big chop on a 5.8 and did one run across the bay and back before realising it was all too big and packed up and went back to work. Still did a 27.9 unhooked cause I was too scared of getting catapulted.
Even worse was when I was rigging up and a gust launched my rig ACROSS the road, glanced off a telegraph pole and came to rest on a grassy park. No damage thankfully. Basically a sign telling me to get back to work and stop bludging!!

First Starboard Gemini Tandem session with Mat

Date:05-08-07

GPS Display Maximum Speed:26.4, 10 sec 25.9, 100m 26.03, 250m 24.31, 500m 23.29. 5 x 10 24.52. I must work out the alpha.... :-)

Conditions:15-20kts

Equipment:'08 Gemini, 56cm Go Drake fin, KA Koncept 5.8's - 2006 front, 2007 rear.

Details about Self: Mat and I have a combined age of 89 yrs. Combined weight of 146 kilos and height of 350cm.

Comments:Great session, Very easy to ride, especially compared with the speed tandem. Balance downwind was difficult. Upwind with CB down was good. We gybed it all runs except the first and did not fall off!
Hopefully some pics to come soon.

I have finally extracted an Alpha speed from the Tandem session. The problem was that the turning circle was so wide that I had to increase the proximity circle to 100m to get a result!
Screen shot in the photo section.

Gemini Tandem Alpha: 500m = 15.35 kts. 1000m = 15.8 kts

I am sure that on these runs the board planed right through the gybe. The minimum speeds are 6.5 and 7.5 knots!!

GPS Display Maximum Speed:34.37

Conditions:12-18knots

Location:Lake Bonney,Barmera s.a

Equipment:Fanatic Falcon 91-RS6-5.8m Vector Ex 30cm

Details about Self:Male-100kg-43yrs old

Comments:Tried the smaller sail again and the first time wasn't a one off.Could have gone faster but the wind was abit more square on our speed run at the north end of Lake bonney. This spot will produce 40+ knot speeds once we get the wind it's approx 1.5km long on the western bank of the lake and works in sw/w/nw wind directions chop down the course is approx 10cm high, but it is gusty and you have to hook into a good gust to run the total 1.5km.
