Katapult, i think i was chatting to you yesterday. I'd be interested to see our Alpha Racing speeds as we nailed a couple of carve gybes after some serious speeds!

Shame as it was quick. I particulary liked the stage when there were three of us all doing a carve at exactly the same time - would have looked good from the beach!

Comments:Great, unexpected day. Rocked up at Kyeemagh with a board in a box from Perth, took it out for it's maiden voyage and did a 29.8 knot first run! 6.8m was too small for everything except the big gusts, it could have handled more. I couldn't work out how Chris was planing so early then he told me afterwards he was on an 8.4m!

Comments: ESE gusts what a pain to sail in, some of the more learned crew did one run and chucked it in(obviously they knew it was going to die out) me just plain dumb and kept going, last run out was great But its always the same, wind dropped to a bugger all and slogged it all the way home

Hey mineral1, at lest you got a sail in, and you're getting faster

About 10 years ago I sailed Melville, where 2nd wind did lessons etc, used to go to the other side of the sand bar, work up wind and then fly down over the sand bar. It used to go really flat when it was nearly too low
Saw a few really good stacks also, when the tide dropped too low

Firiebob, yep have had a few stacks on that sandbar a few times
Best one was last season, was setting up on a E wind, two old guns went out first, but went towards Narrows bridge to get to river middle, I saw them, but didn't take any notice, got rigged, set of at a good rate, didn't go they way they went and yep EL SMASHO Stood up and it was just above ankle deep only damage was pride

Conditions:15-20 knots W.

Location: Wellington Point

Equipment: Resurrected Mistral Flow 105, Aerotech VMG 7.0, select 37 fin

Details about Self: 29, 86kg, 2 years

Comments: Was hoping to crack 100 k's, but fell just short. GPS decided not to record my session, so I can't analyse it fully. Went out on a 5.7 wave sail and 32cm fin, clocked a 26.6 on this combo, difficult to get good speeds in big chop.
Was still good to get some wind after three weeks of doldrums.

Ha nebbian, I was after the 100 Ks too, the only record I might get, but then everyone reading this will be after it now
I got to 83 Ks, till the wind got even lighter, and I got too cold. We only wear boardies up here

Yes... 90.54 kilometres. That was sailing from 9:30 till 4pm. I'm thinking 100 k's is possible, but will be a big effort.

You b*stard Nebs, the race is on
I know Hardie's Heros were after a 100 also
I did my 83 in just under 3hrs, but mate I sailed from Yorkey's to the Barron River and back. Was hoping for some flat water in the mouth, tide was too high and wind too light. Because of the crocs in the Barron, I was hoping my alpha might improve also
