GPS Display Maximum Speed:29.7 kts

Conditions:10-40 knots

Equipment: Gun Sails 6.8m (!!), Kinetic Centurion, Larkos 40cm Fanatic fin

Details about Self: 28 and feeling old after a weekend at icy thredbo

Comments: Mental dawn patrol, way too windy but very happy that i managed a 29.7 knot run so overpowered. Sam rocked up and rigged a 5.4 and a 65 ltr slalom board.. made my kit look a little large!

Yes.

The only real problem was the size of the board, the wind kept getting under it so I had to sail it like a kiteboard so the wind pushed it onto the water! I had a lot of dangerous tail walks to be honest.

That gun race sail was amazing in that wind strength, it stayed completely stable. I guess thats what you get from having a sail with 4 cams and 50 cm wide luff tube!

I just have to let Bud from windsurfingsales know that he now has a bent boom...

GPS Display Maximum Speed: 31.3 knots

Conditions: 10 to 22 kts

Equipment: Fanatic Falcon 90 slalom board, Neil Pryde MPR 5.7, 34cm fin
Self: Age 39, 75kg, 6ft, 24 years sailing

Comments: second day on the board after having a shocker the day before cause I was using a wave sail. Couldn't believe how much of a difference the right, or at least better, sail made to performance and handling. This was a personal best speed so I was wrapped. Water was flatish, I got my best run on a fairly broad reach that wasn't even at our speed strip so it made it all the more satisfying. The board handled the chop so much better than my older Fanatic so I might just have to buy it

Hey Katapult,

Do you have a NAVI? Mine did this as well, I've tried to replicate the problem by pressing buttons etc but can't make it fail. I'd love to know what the problem is.

I've done that on the Garmins. There is a "recording ON/OFF" button in one of the pages. Settings I think. I also suspect that if you fill up the memory it goes to recording "OFF" automatically, and next time you go to use it - nothing . Still trying to fathom out the GT11 though.

GPS Display Maximum Speed: 30.61 knots

Conditions: 20-25 knots W

Equipment: JP Freeride 84l, scratched 31cm fin

Sail: rooted 5m Pryde wavesail

Self: Age 29 87kg, 177cm, 2 years exp

Comments: Wind was gusty so had to make the most of the high tide at wello. Chairman had offered some gybing tips so I was pleased to get a PB on my Alpha. Finally got up the b@lls to go on the shallow side of the bank, but didn't go nearly as close as Pierre (He's a madman!) All told I got 4 personal bests (2 sec, 5x10, Alpha, Nm) so I'm pleased as punch.
