Anybody interested in going over and bringing it back to Sydney?
How much would we have to pay here, just GST on the landed cost I think?
I think there would be m ore than GST unfortunately

Built in the UK, ergo no FTA or CER concession and will attract duty and GST plus other incidentals eg. AQIS, it appears to not have AC thereby saving you being slugged up to $3000. Still a cheap boat though.
Just googled - Importing yachts to Aust. ACS - and it gives a figure of 5% duty and 10% GST as a basic rule. One could deduct the cost of sailing it back here - within reason - and it does not mention fumigation or any other added costs.
I think one needs an import permit. Few years ago l imported a motorbike and l had to have one.
If you are serious about sailing it back, if you need a hand, l would be happy to help if you pay my expenses fully.
Before we get to that, whoever, l would fly over and inspect the yacht personally, out of water, if l was the buyer! ![]()

You have to calculate how much diesel would be used getting home plus the victuals and pay GST on that too. Even so a quick swim over the side would be good enough survey for me.
I doubt I could get to do it but you could get it to Oz and have a great boat for a good price. And have a great experience to boot.
I'd be happy checking it out alongside and going for a swim to check the undersides. Get a survey done back here for insurance as it is unlikely you would get insurance for the trip back.
$289 for a one way flight to Nadi. Can't find a flight to Savusavu but there is a ferry. Make it $1000 to get to the boat to cover a couple of nights in a hotel. This isn't part of the landed costs.
Sail Fiji to New Caledonia then to Australia (Bundy??). Then to Sydney.
Two handed sailing costs, say $2000.
Landed cost about $25,000. 5% duty $1250 plus GST $2600.
Probably 5-6 weeks and $28,500 all up.
amazing stuff Loosechange. I've been following the race closely. The one design has added a great dimension to the race. Lots of debate about their use of AIS and how it's affected the racing.
I'm a big fan of brave girls on SCA and what they've achieved. Copped a real battering on this leg. Some more remarkable vision from yesterday
Great videos! Not relaxing cruising though. Love the technology from the cameras through to the rigging on these vessels.
Cold!
Don't do cold!
Me neither. Always turn left at the heads. When in doubt, turn left.
