Itchy was pumping up at 11. He came straight from night shift.
I had hangie work, so was delayed till 1.30. Had it to myself, fun 3 foot 20 kts. Had a "whale situation" as well.

Seems everywhere was smoking today, swell has been fun for the past week.

I headed down to gerroa early. I ended up windsurfing all day. Wind was solid and it was picking up a good bit of swell for gerroa. It was pumping. Absolutely wrecked now though, windsurfing takes a lot more out of you!!!
Well I thought I found my cross-shore wave I was in search for... 
It was looking pretty cross off, so I pumped up and launched.
The launch spot was mega sketchy, 15m of beach riddled with dried seaweed and broken coral.
The wind was nothing short of gusty, swirling up and down.
I launched and got a genuine 3m lofting, too gusty to try and put a leggie on. The kite fell out of the sky like 4 times while on the beach.
Pretty dodgy, got out and it was super off-shore.
The waves were good, I got onto a couple but even edging against the kite I was just getting pulled off the back of the wave.
I got lofted off my board again.
I pretty much did one BIG tack and came back in (wind had me edging parallel to the beach, looking directly east!).
Kite fell out of the sky once I hit the beach. Good self landing!
I was quite relieved to be back onshore, both gear and me in one piece.
I've kited some really dodgy conditions before, this was by-far the worst... I've never sort of felt constantly on edge like that. 
Once I was back on the beach I could see what happened; the wind went from NW to pretty much W (straight offshore).
Anyway here is a couple of pics of the waves...

I was sweating on those pics, wow what a nice wave. I reckon if the wind was NNW 20 -25 knots for 6 hrs and that swell it would be one sess to really remember. A shame it doesn't stay that direction for long, gutsy effort Matt.
Awesome looking spot. I would have ditched the kite and just went surfing. Yeeeewwww.
Picked a good few days to re charge the batteries prior to the Christmas madness.
Just had the last x 3 days with insane NE winds and some waves "somewhere" on the north coast... paradise!!!
It's on again tomorrow... bugger...

Im a freakin JINX...
in the last week i have tried several times to get out for a kite.
I watch SB graphs all day at work
turn up all keen at the kite spot & set up my gear as i watch others kite.
just ready for launch

PFFT!!!
Has happened many times before, and now my kite mates are telling me to stay home so they can have a good session.
Oh and to make things worse, i have 2 new kites :(
i think its time for me to take up lawn bowls.

Ha. Got out on the light wind gear for around an hour. Was very light, but just enough for a few backrolls.
Got my fix for a few days. (unless it blows tomorrow. Hahaha)

today was pretty crappola.
i went to gerroa to check it out, almost straight onshore.
so we went to berrys beach which was cross-on.
waves were pretty decent but wind was killed off by a massive sweep which ran the same direction as the wind.
wind was up and down 20knots, i shouldve bit the bullet and changed to my 10.
first ride in 6 months on the mulcoy, such a sick board. rode it quad and it ripped.
that was my highlight, half a dozen cracker right handers.
Anyone heading out tomorrow, somewhere in the Illawarra area? Looks like it'll come a northeasterly in the afternoon followed by a strong and gusty southerly on Sunday.
