I can't and dont see how Pete can bear any fault and from the start of the thread just couldn't fathom how it happened, but in saying that look at the design (thanks dusta if its the actual boat ) of the boat's inverted windscreen and roofline overhang and location of helm, have look and imagine standing at the helm and the angle to the sky, if at speed and planing with the bow raised that would also make sighting a smallish human at water level form quite hard as well. i would say it would be very hard to sight a kite if not specifically looking out for one, That windscreen/roof design may factor significantly in the investigation.

If in fact they were responding to an emergency, there would have been a lot of activity on both on the boat and in the minds of the helmsman and crew, factors only emergency workers can really understand. Look at how many ambos and cops bingle responding to emergency and they are trained professional drivers. Distractions ( huge factor) weather, visibility, human error, design, Lots of mitigating factors here.

Just wondering, would that have been at cactus beach, maybe a dude called sonny? I did a windsurf trip ther 30 or so years ago with some Gero (well blow ins) crew. That guy if its the same one, gave me some great motivation with some kind works when I was karkkng myself in big waves, dodgy winds.

Considering a lot of people do both i.e have a boat ticket and kite/ windsurf etcetc and the fact i can walk down that marina and take that vessel out ,one could say there may be a reason ive taken an interest, to once again learn to make room to avoid fken kite turd burglars (not referring to you hamburglar) although you may be a relative


We ve all done it .....Jump / boost off the back wash or even fly / cut right in front of vessels and if you stuff it you could get hit HMMMM i wonder
