Feel for you mate. Been in a similar situation for two years. Rekindled a relationship with an old girlfriend in January 2020.
She is in Perth. We've spent all of five days together since, spread over two visits.

There has been quite number of directions made under the EMA, then revoked, and replaced with something else. Over the whole COVID crap there has been at least 20 revoked directions but always replaced with a newer version
For example a direction that nobody comes into WA, then months later it was revoked. Does not mean open slather - as it was replaced with another direction that nobody comes in unless essential worker and quarantine and blah blah.
That is to avoid directions that are contrary to one another.

Somehow I have a feeling seabreeze will close this thread because they seem to decide what's related to water sports and what's not.. 
What's going on in Oz is beyond anyones crazy imagination. But next time hopefully not a single person from your government gets elected again (thats my New Year's wishes to them). Also my personal cheers to seabreeze as closing a conversation here and there doesn't seem like a big deal until it does and more and more people start coming to the site not once a day but one a week and then once a month ..etc.
We need the borders to open to welcome back the good sailing community (wind, kite, sailboat etc) visitors from around the world that we always had visiting.
Apart from a rant of overcrowding in a spot or two, there was always enough space and coastline for all of us locals and visitors to enjoy.

It seems most is back to normal here in SA apart from the hospital I visited today to get a XRay of my 4 week old possibly broken ankle .. It was in lockdown in level 2 due to a Covid transfer so I have to wait another day before I can obtain a X-ray . Other than that everyone seems to be going about there business and tourist still flooding in!
has anyone noticed the supermarket shelves a looking a little bare.
I wonder if the bed wetter in chief will maintain his popularity when the shelves run completely bare.

Oh dear... someone that has to have a toke to make life interesting is commenting on whether other people would be interesting in real life. I think that tells me something straight away.
If that doesn't work, take some mushrooms and feel like the whole world is a conspiracy.
In my experience, people tend to be consistently the same in their life, so I can imagine that instead of telling interesting stories at dinner which you probably imagine you are, you would be sitting there expecting everyone else to and then telling them they are wrong and its all a setup OR telling them that they are boring and you need to take something to make 'them' interesting.
I can imagine it now. "Interesting story #1" : 'It's a conspiracy guys, trust me', followed by "interesting story #2" : 'It is a conspiracy guys, you just don't understand, uh huh, yeah'.
