A little off topic but wondering if any 100kg riders out there can share some insights. I have a 6.5 sls and 5m 2021 slick, looking at a smaller wing for the high 20 knot + days .. still very much learning, riding both ways but gybing a WIP!
Could I get away with a 3.5 or would a 4 be better in those high wind conditions?

You could get rid of the old 5 m and get a 4.5v3

What's the wind range of the v3 4.5?

109kg... I can't imagine needing anything smaller than my 4.5 Slick SLS in those conditions. Just had it out in 20 gusting to 40 last weekend. I had a 2021 Slick V1 5.0m2. I thought it kind of sucked in high wind. I replaced it with a 5.5 Unit V2 (2 weeks before the Slick SLS came out). These newer wings are a MAJOR upgrade, especially in higher winds.

If you try the 4.5 v3 you'll be selling the sls

No one's selling the 23 slicks in nz yet, getting away with a 2 wing quiver is certainly appealing though !

Have you used the new 6.5 slick?
Would you says a good combination is 6.5m and 4.5m or 6.5m with 5.0m?

5.5 is my biggest but I wouldn't want a 2m gap as you will either be way overpowered on the 6.5 or but under on the 4.5. Depends what foils you use but the 6.5/5.0 will be better gap if you need a 6.5 or 6/4.5 if you need a 4.5

What do u think would be a good two wing quiver for WA (15kts and up) for an Intermediate 90kgs rider with one 75l all-round board? I have the first Slicks in 5 and 3.5. I found the 5 to be a goldilocks size and the 3.5 too small to get much use. Maybe 5.5 and 4? Or 5 and 4? Thanks in advance - the new V3 sounds worth the upgrade!

you've sowed the seed! I'm thinking of changing my 2021 5 m slick for the v3 5m. TBH I'm probably not ready to be out in conditions over 30 knots! When I am could look at a 3.5m. Then I've got the 6.5m sls for below 20 knots.. I'll have to look at uk I think for the v3

Ah, the reason asked was because you suggested to 5L5 to ditch the old 5m and get a 4.5m v3 when the other wing they had was a 6.5m.
So I also thought that was potentially heading towards a two wing quiver. Even more so if using dlab as the wind range is suppose to wider.

I said the 4.5 v3 will replace the old 5m slick. He has a 6.5 sls which is more like a 6m v3 so prob ok

Yeah correct 6.5sls which I do struggle with in lighter wind but allot to do with my technique ! So you think 4.5 v3 would be ok then with the 6.5sls as a 2 wing quiver?

Dilemma Slick SLS / New Slick

I started learning wing foil last year, Greece island Karpathos. My first wing was old Slick 4.5m. I quickly learned how to foil and become addicted. My board is still KT 105l, for this summer I change foil to north sonar MA 1200 and 1350. And added Slick SLS 3.5 and 5.5. I can make firs flying jibes on new foil. New North Seek board 78l is on the way. (I am 70kg, 60yr)

New Slick SLS wings are amazing. Great wind range and also upwind for me. IMHO better handling than old Slick. So I want to sell old Slick and buy new one same size. BTW same price for Slick SLS or new Slick in my shop.

What will be your choice, recommendation ? Who of you have experience with Slick SLS and Slick what is your favourite and why.

Thanks, Ivan.

If your shop is selling SLS and new Slick for same price, then always take the newer model. It is better.
