While I am not sure how good the 2023 Mod3 Slick is going to be the rumour of no 7m or PentaTX material had me thinking and so I have upgraded my original Slicks to 2022 Slick SLS because there are some great deals to be had just now and stock seems limited around the UK dealers.
Tried out the 5m SLS yesterday in solid cross onshore conditions and had an absolute blast, can't believe the difference over my original Slick. Not sure how it managed to feel smaller in the hand and more powerful all at the same time.
Also pretty sure that what I have paid for the 5m and 7m would only get me one 2023 Slick.
Will just have to wait until next year to go Mod3
So haven't tried the 7m yet? It has a Larger wingspan. Nearly 4m? I was afraid of tip catches all the time!?

The original Slick 7m soon had me trained to keep the tips up. I am 6' tall and it's no problem.
The extreme dihedral of Duotones helps to keep the wing tips clear of the water reducing the effect of the span when comparing with flatter windwings.

I have. But not a lot. Mostly river wave riding. Don't have an opinion on that.
I have mine, weird that it's not online anywhere, I got it preorder and it just arrived one day! Card says it was built/tested in January so they are ready to go apparently
release date for the 2023 Slick is coming in a few days. Already some stock in the US but we can't advertise it online but some customers are already placing orders and they will start showing up on the beach.

This thing actually looks pretty awesome in Dwight's video. I never would have considered the original, but that tight canopy has caught my attention. Does anyone know if they still use a proprietary inflation valve?

For sure they still use the Airport valve which is standard on all Duotone kites and wings for about 10 years now

Well, the old ones had weight indications. I guess that the low weight of the SLS was a great selling point.

It was a mistake not calling it the v3 and the old one a v2.
It sounded more like they both got their asses kicked on a recent high wind session and became confused. Less powerful old version versus more powerful new version
I'd like Tucker to go back to his solo review and get rid of the other guy.

A decent test takes its time.
I don't have the impression they've got to choose the appropriate size "this morning".
I disagree with Tuckers statement the V2 having a big range. It lacks low end and if you live in an area where bigger sizes are in the focus that really matters.
I really hope he's wrong when talking about high end as I come from Unit V2 and my homespot is very gusty what Unit 2 masters perfectly.
We shall see. What I could see in Dwights video scenes how the wings in sizes from 3.0 up to 6.5 behave in meremortal's hands is highly promising.
The closest I've come to riding a v2 Slick, was a prototype last July. When they were still less powerful. I did not like it, so stayed with Units.
We've had the v3 Slicks for 5 weeks in sizes 3, 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 riding 4-5 times a week. Plus my wife is also riding them as frequently. We both agree they are the best wings from Duotone.
FYI, was told my review noticed the things they worked really hard on, so it was nice hear my review.
