Yeh Carl it's been about 10 to 15 most of the day from around the SW direction, Robe airport is pretty good but the robe one is behind the postoffice under the trees and is very ordinary, the cape jaffa one always seems to read higher than it is and is apparently close to the beach, just remember these are on towers 30 meters or so up.
I have to take the barby down tommorrow so will throw some posts in the trialer for the fire.

North winds are a lot better from the 5 mile for flat water, we can always sail downwind from the spit, or the big lake if you like a bit of chop jumping.
hey peeps, for those who havnt been to the SPIT, how do you get there from Beachport, is it signposted? map anyone? i see a track on Google maps, is that the way in ? how many k's from Beachport? or can you take a short cut on that track between the 2nd and 3rd lakes?

Yeah, what are the do's and don'ts of driving the Spit Rd for an asphalt numpty like me ?. Jimbob took me there once, but I don't remember. It's a long skinny track looking at it from space.
Koshi just go straight up the main street over the hill past the pub and keep going, just ring me when you are around, sharky do you want to have a go in the 4wd again over the dunes.
there is some water over the track around the 5 mile drift but just putt through in 1st as the bottom is not boggy or take the top track over the hill.

if by 'first aid kit' you mean band-aids, berocca, betadine and bourbon, then yep, I got it covered.
car is packed, minutes away from starting to make my way south.

Hello everyone,
I'm considering making a last minute dash down to Beachport either Saturday or Sunday - it really depends on the wind forecast. I haven't seen anything overly impressive by way of wind forecast but I see that those in the know seem psyched.
Can someone tell me what sort of winds Beachport is expecting on Sat and Sun and are they getting their information from the BOM.

Thanks Jay - after some thought I've decided not to come this time around but I am intending to go on some of these trips in the future. May head down to Day St Sunday morning.
