starting to look like the good old days hey Jimbo.

Might throw the swag in and camp at the spit if its a Northerly.

Pitty Ty sold all my gear wouldn't mind a few speed runs.

You kiters can't help converting back to sailing!
Johnny...you...who's next?

Can't wait for a great weekend!
HAAK be careful of wombats if you come and visit us!
Maybe I'll get a sail on Marty's new toys???

Oops..think I am on his log in!!![}:)]

Nah, not going back to been a poley anytime soon Vik. Just having a bit of fun / banter with the crew. But if it's over 25k then I'll have a go as long as you don't laugh.
Why are you staying at the Dip when there's great camping spots around Lake George? Not as many wombats.
Hope to catch up over the longweekend.

Jimbo, I'll come across when the next big northerly hits. It's been that long time, you might have to show me how to rig it

had an hour out at danger. 5.2 and booby high cross shores, forced home early by a phone call and a crook little man. passed pinchgut on the dash back and it was a good 5 knots stronger but a bit onshore. is that place ok on a low tide ian? only time i sailed it you could have launched of those three stair cases, ie very high tide.
a comfortable sail even solo there as you'd hope someone would see you if one was to f up or have a kit/lack of wind issue

Yeah Pinchgut works ok for me at low tide but probably to shallow for you. The right hander working off the side of the reef is ok for a poley in a westerly. Like wise the left hander on the other side on an easterly. Easterly are usually pretty weak down here.

Have you tried the eastern end of Browns?
Turn left just before the dairy (near brown's) coming from the Mount. Feast road I think.
Approx 2 > 3 k's turn right down a track to the beach ( hence we call it the "track"). great camping spot and ok on westerly.

"Where ya park ya car" & "the Dairy" works on a westertly as well.Yep, at the car park at Orwell rocks and near the Dairy.
"Dogs ball" right hander near the drain heading back into the bay from Orwell rocks also works on a Westerly. rocks sticking up like dogs balls.

Alot of thought has gone into naming these spots

The pick of the waves are Mokes, Pebbles and little lefts. Get your ass around there they would suit you to a tee.

are you talking about whats called paradise or green pt? fished for snapper off a boat a few times at green point when the sea is calm and did notice a reefy to the north end right on the point, its about 300m offshore and i think it could go off in the right conditions. if i hadnt fished there with my bro inlaw i wouldnt have dared head down the easement track, totaly looks like private property to the un knowing.
heading off in hope danger is working now
never had so many options within half an hour from home and bearaways on south westers.

Where you put in to go fishing is the eastern end of green point.
The track is the western end of green point.
Your right, you go thru PP to get to green point. The track is about half way back towards Browns.

Yeah little lefts, Mokes (right and left) and Pebbles(left) are a drop kick from each other at Cape Douglas. then theres outer reef approx 300m from Pebbles. These wave get "BIG"
Big harder to launch but worth it.
Turn left at the cattle yards just before the Douglas. Surfers have the right away.

pt danger today, swell direction was more favourable but smaller and less windy. good dtl sailing
sailed pebbs my first summer down here and not much since then. needs size to realy work.
the combo around the corner to the west a bay or two nearly always works.

Hi trousers,

We usually just get the oldest gear on the day and throw it on the fire. Should be a good weekend. I think we will have a stronger drinking arm by the end of the weekend. Great cruise on saturday.

See you on the weekend.

Hi Trousers,

We need to bring firewood - it would be good if everyone brought a bit down to share the load.

25C on Sunday!

unfortunately, not an option for me. my lil' station wagon with two people, camping gear and sailing kit will be capacity max.

i seem to recall on the way into lake george there are camping sites and such, is it a national park?

sometimes they have stashes of firewood to stop muppets chopping down live vegetation. not anything like that around? i certainly don't mind making the trip back out to collect some once i dump all the cargo.

In 2008 i recall grabbing any old trees around the camping area. It was probably a little wet. I am sure we will find some wood around there. Just hopefully not too wet.

Carl, can you KA team guys find time on the weekend to have a look at my Koncept setup for me as I have been struggling getting a sweet setup on my 5.8.

there was some wood pilled up at the huts today, PLEASE don't flog this wood from the fishermen...

No worries Jimbob - will have a look at your ka. It looks like you might need it sunday. My 2009 5.8 is my all time favourite sail. Might change when the 2011's arrive soon.

See you on the weekend.

Old Trees...I seem to recall someone trying to "burn" a branch with green leaves
Hopefully there will be enough wood if those who can bring some do.

Two years ago, when I was a struggling beginner, I remember seeing this post by Dave:

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/South-Australia/Beachport-weekend-photos/

This post really motivated me to continue. I knew it would be along way down the track, but it was something I could look forward to eventually doing.

You'll see me there this year. I'll a few bits of wood (will only be a small amount though).

You guys might get some wind for the comp - half ya luck. See it was in the 20's yesterday we just went from the coldest wintyer for 10 years to 113 degrees farenheit at Disneyland yesterday - didn't even get burnt - don't thing the sun can break through the smog in Los Angeles

At least we got wet down splash mountain to cool off - have a great weekend its my fav weekend of the windsufing calendar.

Hopefully get a surf at Huntington beach in a few days while your sailing Beachport!!!!!

Hey Pilly, didn't see you at the valley last weekend.
3 days solid 17 > 24 knots all weekend. sat morning was great but it dropped off in the arvo.

Winter has dragged a lot of sand away from the channel, hope the seea breezes bring it back.
Never knew there was some much exposed reef at the creek.

Can't wait for the sun to poke thru.

Hope to catch up with you guys at the spit over the weekend.

Hi Jimbob,

Did get the wind forecast. Couldn't get the 7 day forecast to work. Probably better not to know.

Thanks.

P.s - how accurate is the robe airport ob's on bom? Is there 11 to 20 odd knots today?
