? briefing at 1pm now we are into daylight saving. If you take the foil we will give you + 60 minutes on your handicap - sounds pretty fair !

You'll all want to be behind me to see me go Splat, so the handicap will be irrelevant!!! :)

Good morning all,
I've decided to go Foiling at Heat 2 of the Formula + Foiling series at Marmong Point tomorrow, so I won't be at the club - hell, I might not be back lol.
I didn't receive the email from the club this week regarding start times for Saturday, however I imagine they'll be the same as last week. The forecast is looking great for Saturday, around 15knots from the South East, so it should be a great day for Raceboards.
I'm also out next weekend (11-Nov) and the 18th and 19th Nov I'll be at Sanctuary Point for the Raceboards State titles. So I'll see you all the Saturday after that.
JD.
Lyndon is also away for the next 2 weeks so I doubt I will be racing on my own, will head out Sat morning for a practice sail if anyone is interested

My order of preference would be,
1. Foiler
2. Lyndons Flapper board
3. Sputnik 280
4. D2 , although you would receive a significant handicap

I also have a BIC FV1.2 (Similar to Lyndon's Flapper board.
I'm tempted to go the Foiling option though :)
Light wind specialty sailing can be lot of fun.

Really nice...Glad you keep them alive ![]()

Not sure what I am doing, very tempted to try and get an early foil in on Sat before it's gets to windy
good, is that free to join in?
Hi Danny,
Are you asking about the early morning foil session, Saturday afternoon racing at Gosford or the Raceboard event?
Another weekend almost upon us, the forecast has lightened from earlier in the week but it may just be good foiling. All classed of boards are welcome and there's a good chance there'll be two of us foiling tomorrow. Another chance to try our luck against the Raceboards.
See you all for Briefing in the club at 1pm.

Nice free sail day on 23rd. Two foils and an RSX. I had lots of fun trying out the RSX, foils looked amazing as always but crashing can't be fun. Its always a bit startling to have a foil touch down behind you as they are virtually silent and then suddenly sound very scary. Got a fin and a bung for my tiga racing D2 today. Just CB to construct. Also need to put some work in on my home made foil. Merry Christmas to all.

Great to see the RSX on the water Lyndon, looks great, cannot wait to see your foil on the water.Dont worry about crashing on the foil once the first one happens it's just something to look forward to![]()
Hi guys,
Saturday was a great freesail and your RSX looked great, as did the new Severne 11.0 rig.
I hope you all had a merry Christmas, I'm yet to confirm if Santa brought me the ability to gybe a foil yet ;)
Hello chaps,
Is anyone going to be there tomorrow? Love to come up to say hi and ask a few questions.

Hi all. Unfortunately I was late to sail in yesterdays racing due to scoring overtime duties at work. I was disappointed so I turned up for a late sail with the exocet RSD2. Thanks to John for warning me that the North East Breeze was building much more than predicted. So I quickly swapped to starboard futura 141 and ezy lion 8.5. The wind was very variable but I still had one of the best sails Ive had in months with paul D . He was on a JP slalom with a very flat 7 sailworks. Paul was maxed out and really flying at stages. For a guy who was sailing masters when I was in my early 20s, paul D is an inspiration to us all in terms of continuing to sail at a high level throughout life.
While I'm congratulating, a huge congrats to John Aus817 , for 6th in nationals and 7th in the Oceania race board title. A remarkable achievement well done. And with two 4th places on the last day he only seems to be improving.
ok update on my diy foil. I was unhappy with my first wing so Im working on that again. I also need to fabricate the deep tuttle connector and drill it to connect the mast. thats tricky because the mast bolts are nearly as wide as the tuttle head so everything has to be perfect.
Update on tiga D2 race. My centre board works very well, but I think it might be better on balance in the more rearward slot so that needs a tweak and a slight reduction in size. also the mast base connection was ok for a trial run but I really need to do that better. on trial it pointed very very high although it didnt seem to naturally rail up. It took heaps of force on the CB to rail at all, but it didnt seem to need much railing. It was comfy on a very broad reach and would totally smash the serenity going down wind. I sailed from down wind of point fred to the top of caroline bay in a NE with one single tack. Amazing. It took on about 500mls of water in 2 hours. not sure where its leaking.

HI mate,
Bummer you missed racing on Saturday, it was an awesome afternoon chasing myself upwind and downwind :) I started with the Magics and the 16ft Skiff and managed to beat them all the the top Mark and although the 16 footer got me at the first downwind, I managed to catch up most of the lost ground upwind and then finish them off downwind for an outright win :) The NE built throughout the afternoon to finish at a good 15-18 knots. I sailed up the Caroline Bay after the race and was pretty close to the limit on my 9.5m RaceboardBlade LW Loft rig.
I'm glad you enjoyed the afternoon out, I think you'd have had a much better time on your 8.5m on your Futura than the 9.5m on your RSD2.
Thanks for the Congratulations, it was a great week at RQYS and although I sailed well, the front 5 or 6 guys were just a little too good.
Looking forward to seeing your foil, and your Tiga D2 on the water. You might need to train yourself to get the D2 to sit on the rail, usually doesn't take too much once you have some pressure and once it's over it should hold being on the rail ok. Most hollow boards do take a little water each sail, god knows where the water comes in, but it always finds a way!
