We've had a visitor from Japan over the past few weeks. A previous distance runner she says she has discovered windsurfing and she is hooked. She has promised to come back and get really serious about her windsurfing as soon as the red tape is sorted.
Gosford / Saratoga Sailboards is a group of like minded people keen on wind powered water sports headed up by Lyndon Bauer and John Doolan. You guys are doing a such a good thing bringing beginners, intermediates and a few expert's together for skill development in wind powered water sports.
Thanks PD.
Saratoga sailing club is a fantastic base for us.
We have a nice beach. Hot showers. Shade. And tons of gear to lone.
Let us know when you are coming so we can bring the right gear. All welcome.. esp PD ![]()

Great to see a new person discovering the windsurfer lifestyle! Good luck Ping on your windsurfing journey. You have been in great company with the Gosford Saratoga crew! These guys are some of the most passionate about our sport you will find and I've seen so many sailors learn windsurfing with John Doolan and Lyndon Bauer. Lyndon in particular has a huge collection of various kit and so good that they both love the windsurfer LT as it is a great all round board suitable for beginners through to international competitors in our huge World events open to everyone to attend! You guys are legends! Hope to see you on the water soon.
it is not too late for anyone to register for the upcoming Windsurfer World Championships this December in Perth. Details at www.windsurferclassaus.com

joined the crew a couple of weeks ago with my 6 y.o son. He had an absolute blast for his first time windsurfing and kept on going. He is asking me when we go to Saratoga again. Will do that soon!
We now watch windsurfmovies every day...(all the classics, thanks to PvB - youtube)

Your son is amazing. I suspect he will star in windsurfing movies in the future. Look forward to the next visit.
I can certainly vouch for these guys. Very generous with their time and equipment and they create a very safe and nurturing environment for learning. Lyndon and John are extremely knowledgeable on all things windsurfing and local conditions.

There are a number of our Saratoga Windsurfers competing with the cream of Australia's Windsurfer fleet this week at the Australian Windsurfer Class National Championships at Toronto Amateur Sailing Club, NSW.
The event will be filled with legends of Australian windsurfing along with the up and coming youth of the future.
With over 120 boards already registered it will be quite the spectacle to watch from the shore of Lake Macquarie.
Wishing our Saratoga sailors (Stuart Voysey, Sarita Ellison, Valentina Vix along with myself) the best of luck.
Early forecast shows a moderate NE for Saturday. Should be roomy on a non-race day too. I hope that the forecast holds and to see more fellow windsurfers there.
There's still time to get your entry in if you wish to compete.

Looking to head out on Brisbane Waters this weekend. Hopefully tomorrow afternoon. Most likely from Green Point Boat Ramp. Hope to see some of you out there.
Summer Racing season is about to kick off at Saratoga. Racing most Sunday afternoons throughout the summer months.
1st days racing is 28-Sep-2025.
For our regular club members don't forget to renew your membership fees.
For any newcomers we'd love to have you join us.
Come and join the fun and excitement under the Windsurfer Class motto "50% Racing, 50% Fun".
You don't have to be an expert racer, we have competitors ranging from beginner, intermediate and advanced and the best part for the beginner and intermediate sailors is you get to learn the tips and tricks from the advanced level sailors.
There's even the Cruiser class which offers a shorter course for the less experienced.
It's promising to be a great day, so I hope to see you all are the club.
