Speed talk and last run announcement like in GPS-Logit Phone app. Maybe via BT to a speaker in/on the helmet?
Why not bluetooth audio like we already have and add a heads up display. Hmmmm....that's not a bad idea, let me get back to you in the Spring! Most of the bits will be in this week.

Nice to see you are still innovating Roo. ![]()
Just wondering how secure any heads up display would be given how many pairs of goggles and sunnies I have lost when windsurfing. ![]()
Building it in to an old full face Gath Helmet, would take a bit to rip that off my head!
Just found the perfect helmet to put all your tech in.

Since its my first post here I cannot add pictures but what I'd really like to see on the Motion is what I have on my Garmin watch:
If you google "Wind/Kite Surfing Datafield FIN151" you should be able to find it.
There are alternating screens:
Screen 1: the five best 10sec speeds in one view from top to bottom with color bands indicating their relative differences. This really helps in quickly assessing how consistent the runs are.
Screen 2: the best 2sec, best 10sec and 5*10sec average.
With screen 2 I could do without the best 10sec since it's also on screen 1.
It would be really nice if Alpha could be incorporated in here in stead (or simply added).

Have you used an LCD Motion?
All your top 10 sec runs are already visible with you best run at the top. As well as your 5 x 10sec Ave. ![]()

Yes in fact I have both Motions.
And yes the top 10sec runs are visible but it's only 3 of them. I'd like to the best five at a glance.
Basically the screen is divided in 5 lines already but the 4th line contains the average 5x10sec and the 5th line has the navigation arrows in it.
So, why not put all five 10sec on one screen? Working the buttons on the water to find #4 and #5 is not working for me.
Also the time when I did each run is not of interest to me so that could be left out as far as I'm concerned.
The alternating screen solution would really work for me especially if it were configurable what's in the 2nd screen.
No more scrolling back and forth through the menus to find it.
Yep all that goes into trial today.
I have received the new Mini casings. The new LCD casings arrive in 10 days. New LCD will finally charge from the center.
Finding parts is still a mess. Epoxy has a six months lead time, some electronic parts have a 2 year lead time, some suppliers are clearly price-gouging, less manufacturers are heading the direction we need, shipping prices rose 6% on January 1st.
I have decided not to go back to Motion fulltime. Everything is a mess and it would be stupid. I'll make 200 devices and reconsider then.
One of the changes in the latest Motion firmware is the ability for Bike riders and runners etc to download the data in a 1Hz .gpx format file for uploading to things like Strava. We need to make it clear that this is not for use in the GPSTC for uploading.
For the GPSTC, only the 5Hz and 10Hz .oao file format is approved for posting, as it contains all the required Doppler Error data etc. for filtering and verifying. (And even if there are not spikes/errors in your data you will almost always get slightly better speed results from the 10Hz data anyhow)
So to be clear: Use only the .oao files for posting to GPSTC through KA-72.
Hi Julien,
I have seen that there is a new firmware 3066 !, i have load it, and it is perfect with the new customs pages and text color.
Here in Switzerland it is winter, and i use the motion for snowkite at the moment (too cold on the lake !). Altitude max, min, live and gain are super for that activity.
Thanks for this new firmware
!
Has anyone heard how the last orders for Australia are going we are still waiting
Yea, haven't heard from Julien here for about a month now.
I assume it's the number of screens you get while scrolling through the different results
Mike, it's the number of times it cycles through all the custom screens. I.E. if it's 2 and you have 4 custom screens, then it will cycles through these 4 screens twice after you gybe.
What about teaming up with Ronstan and getting the Mini Motion GPS incorporated inside the Ronstan... race timing and GPS in one device !

Hey guys any word on the motion orders we've been waiting forever, and haven't heard anything for a long time
Just a safety heads -up... while changing my Mini for a one hour top up, I noticed the charging plate super-hot in one spot. On closer inspection found the plastic melting in one spot. Opened plate to see what was under the melt. a good reminder not to leave Mini charging unattended.

Ha! One of my plates has the same dent. I thought I had just squashed it when I packed it. Now I know. ![]()
JULIEN - since you do not respond to emails, at least do the RIGHT thing and respond to the multiple request in this thread for an update on outstanding orders to Australia. Good or bad at least be upfront and let us know the situation .
Yes a little info would be great, I haven't heard anything for some time now.
And the chances of getting to Europe to pick them up aren't looking too good at the moment

I use one of these to charge my motion gps and not the wireless charger that came with it, might be an option for others to use it if their having issues with the supplied one over heating www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Wireless-PowerWave-Upgraded-Fast-Charging-Black/dp/B07THHQMHM/ref=sr_1_3?crid=12MBPWTJPE201&keywords=anker+wireless+charger&qid=1645830106&sprefix=anker+%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-3
They appear to charge ok on a backup battery with wireless charging.
Was using a 'battery pack' when the 'melt' issue occurred. Am using another now. original post of mine was just to recommend not leaving motion unattended when charging as a precautionary measure.

I was talking about battery packs with built in wireless charging.
