Back after a couple of weeks in the bush . Head high with some overhead sets . Clean , uncrowned and still in boardies and rashie . Gotta be happy with that .

How good is it when the surf pumps every day of a week away, plus minimal crowds

Got out and got a few today . Was trying out a much shorter board than I'm used to and it went alright . Water still warm and nice autumn weather

Got out today after working every day last week. Low tide and a bit weak but got a bit better and cleaned up with the rising tide . Got a few OK waves . Water still warming and still in boardies and rash vest . The steamer might make an appearance soon . Will have another look tomorrow

Too big and gnarly yesterday with very limited options so I went out today now that's it's settled down . Banks not very good but still got a few . Still in rashie and boardies and getting the question "aren't you cold?" . Water still pretty warm though

Been out of the water for days now after hurting my shoulder coming off my push bike . I thought I might have torn something but it's been getting better every day so I reckon it'll be OK . In the meantime it's been pumping

Cheers mate . I've got cruiser type bike. I didn't end up going because it's still not right . The waves were ok though but I don't want to aggravate it. I did some reading and shoulder sprains can take 2 months or more to heal right and it's only been a month. Better to be careful I think

Good on you, SMH. Take your time. I don't bounce like i used to. I try to avoid falling on hard surfaces. Water is okay, preferably saltwater.
No surfing for me today. Rainy day, dubious wind, school holidays ... and I'm soft and I'm fussy.

Getting the best run of swell I've seen for a long time and it's coming from the best direction E/NE . All I can do is ride my bike down there and watch

Cheers Climber . I paddled the river today and it seems OK so maybe a short session soon and see how it goes from there . This is the longest I've been out of the water in years . There's been a really good run of surf too . Hoping you get back out soon too . Injuries are a bad as you get older . Don't bounce back as quick these days

I ride a dirt/adventure/dual sport (call them what you will) bike and was chatting to a doc I know who is an avid surfer. He reckons that the majority of beaten up middle aged guys are not injured from motorcycles rather mtb's. He said he sees heaps of really gnarly injuries too. Be careful out there.

My accident happened while I was stationary . I'd stopped at a crossing and went to put my foot down on some grass but there was a hole there and I just went over and stuck my arm out to break my fall resulting in the sprain . Didn't see that coming

Been a while since I rode a mal, been on SUP's, soft boards and a shortboard for last while as that is what my quiver is.

Managed to demo a local shapers longboard on the weekend and surfed it in some really challenging, fun and solid waves.

A moody cloudy dawn awaited us with a light drizzle of rain, only a few of us on a shifty peak that jacked up and ran along a pretty epic bank to the beach, once through the takeoff a nice long wall waited, to be honest most of the time I just trimmed. really forgot just how fun a longboard is, will be adding one to my quiver again as soon as I can.

Copped a few beatings as well, too used to sitting closer in on a shortboard and forgetting how to get under solid white water, good old fashioned drubbing but all good!

Back in the water last week after a period of losing my mojo .
Down here it's that time of the year when the cold fronts rolling through bring a good swell with them - big front hitting today again -

these pics are from my 1st time back out for a bit - Friday
