Is 8 too many???
5'10 fish x 2
A sweet potato knock off and a wide tailed quad
6'4 Machado single fin
6'4 wombat
6'8 sumo
7'4 local shaper, paddle into anything I can handle..3 fins, doesn't get used much..
Then a 9ftr - All round LB.
And a 10ft Tak Mod T
Few others laying around but the ones above get used most..
I've got a six pack :-
7'5" Miller Powerglide
7' Miller Subx
7'6" MR Flying Fish
7' MR Flying Saucer
7'2" Firewire Addvance
6'9" Katana Scud
Still kaint decide which one to ride most of the time, but usually endup on either of the Millers.

A lot of steps in length, how many are a cross over or are very similar to one another?
Macaha, yeah you're right some are close lengeth wize but they all ride differently. My main criteria, being older & heavier is like all of us to"just catch waves", so all my boards are big on volume, also I mainly surf Sydney beachbreaks that tend to be straighthandish with crowds. Another biggie is I don't get the kind of waves that I can really compare one board against another but on a very similiar wave EG; Snapper, Noosa, Byron etc . So;-
7'5' x 23" x3' Miller Powerglide, 5 FINZ adjutable finboxes, rounded pin tail. I asked Grant to make this one a combo of his Powerglide & waterskate so I could "throw it around a bit & get a sneaky bit of a noseride in at the end of a wave". I suppose this my longboard, riding it now as a quad with MR TFX up front & small glass rears, drivy but still loose. Had it for 3 years & love it. Turns easliy, stable & fairly quick, Been up the nose a lot (just can't quite get 5 over) & had it hard over on its rails.
7'6" x 223/4" x3" MR Flying Fish FCS11 thrusterFCS II Accelerator PC Carbon Tri Set. Only had this a short time, has it out in 4'-5' at Palmie & it felt real smooth & stable turned well for its size & quick, I'll try it a a twinni soon.
7'2"x 23" x 31/8" Firewire Addvance 5 FCS finboxs, current setup Simon Large FCS quad. Got this as I wanted to try one, got the board, leggie, 5 fins & bag for real good price so I brought it. Only had it in once & it fells ok bit stiff on turns but it meets my criteria, I'll go to Sunny G thruster set next & see what its like.
7'x 223/4" x 2/78" ( I think) Miller Subx, Fin box + 4 FINZ adjustable finboxes. Got it setup as a quad with Harley Inglby HL1's in it, it does eveything I can ask of it. Gets in earlyish, quick off the mark & I've had it pretty hard over on the rails in turns. Bigger rounded nose so its a bit harder to duckdive but its all about tradeoffs.
7'x22"x27/8" MR Flying saucer FCS11 swap fins with the FF. Really suprised with this one easy to paddle, duckdive turns really well & is fairly quick. Had this one when I ordered the latest subbie so I'm actually selling this ATM, Board, carver fins, leggie, tail oad & bag $650 excellent cond. I only just listed this as I gotta reduce the quiver.
6'9" x 23" 3" Katana Scud quad, I use the Simons quads on this. Ordered this when I was having a real good period in my surfing. Got it just as I got cleaded up at Palmie & tore hammie & bone off pelvis. It's really fast & loose, being epoxy as is the Addvance, the others are PU, so it feels completely different to the other boards. I'd love to keep this board but dunno if I can get back to where my surfing was.
I'll prob endup selling the Addvance & Scud.
I'd love to be able to ride them all on a regular basis on consistently shaped waves to be able to really feel the differences, but then if I was regularly riding Noosa, Byron etc I might have a ..a...aaa....aaaa...LONGBOARD!
Thanks mate I'm really struggling the let one of my boards go thats on gumtree atm,may ride it down the track but may not neither.
I only have one board in possession at the moment in Tassie and its not even mine (thanks Andy) and to make matters worse its a McT ! ! ! !

Just sayin' here Mac, couple of years ago a good mate karked it in the surf, only 50 & fit, no real reason was ever found. As a result I got on the "lifes too short & I'm gonna try whatever i want before its too late" bandwagon. Now to an old bloke like me who grew up with the one board quiver till about 10 years ago its been like a kid in a lolly shop, or me in a bottle shop! ha!. So after 3/4 years of buying newies, doing trade ins, buying secondhand boards, selling or trading them in & yep, as I now realise it, trying to reinvent "the board" as I get older. I think I've finally got thru my fat head that I only need 2 or 3, prob just a Longboard, midlenght & a "shorter one".
I've come to realise that, it seems like the majority of boards are now are single to double concave, 5 fin cluster or 2+1, Pu or epoxy with a slight variation 'cause "you need this board". Strangely when you think of it, the "different" ones are longbord single fins with a good glass job that simply "do the job".
So make the cull mate, "wrealse wodgeer" & let 'em go to new homes. You'll be a new man, feel great, surf better, stress less.. go on do it!!...
(until you see that "ONE" in the rack at McT's...)
New one picked up today, sorry same old model same old art.
Hang on I bought that board off you weeks ago![]()

and you'll be buying the othery off Mac in 3 weeks
hey Mac how do you find the 901 ,is there much difference in wave catching and paddling speed than the 906 ?
my 906 23 x 3 is too much board , looking at down sizing .
Hey Bazz I added 1/2 inch to the width and 1/8 to the thickness to come down in length for my weight. Yesterday at McTAVISH I bumped into bob who was as stoked as ever and he was frothing to show me his own custom he is making its 8.6 quad G2 with part of the original template, he went norrower than he normally dose but keep the volume right out to the rails,he offered it to me the ride once it's finished but it would be too small for me.
Fark mac.....all that typing and the blokes question is still unanswered lol.
Dont think mct or bob, think of what is the differce in paddling speed between a 901 board and a whaterever it was 90something......then type ....... ![]()
Then answer.....type the answer mac. Also a hearty good morning morning to ya Mac ![]()

OK I get it I was explaining I guess
that I added width and thinness so it can not be compared to a stock 906 x 23 x 3

Im laughing so hard right now....MAC how much paddling speed will bazza lose if he goes down to a 901 board from a 906 ![]()
morning, was more interested in the wave catching abilities when downsizing from 906 to 901 , using the same rocker profile ....

And paddling speed equates to?
Im lost now

But I thought if you are in the right spot it should only take a few strokes anyway whether it be a LB, shorty or even body surfing???![]()

Another lovely looking board Mac..
