Sent Mr Webber an update on the issue with my Diamond that was supposed to be a refined version of the supposed crap Carbon that I had.
Oh what irony in that alone! Given that the Carbon took a lot more pressure and heat than the Diamond.
Anyhow, he was kind enough to get back to me with the reasoning being that some of these boards where made by TSA and some by him, and that the glass jobs where completely different.
Who knew and who the hell are TSA? From a consumer perspective it's a Webber regardless of who made it it's got his name all over it and his reputation attached to it.
Looks like me and another couple of guys in Perth got stung by a container load of duds that are out there snapping.
Will keep you all posted if anything eventuates, but seeing I got mine as a second hander I doubt it.
Ok....but it looked the biz and was a good price...goofy though!
Who says it can't be ridden natural? ![]()

The surfboard agency maybe?
That board looks very nice CF.

I'm at the skatepark with my boy straight across the road from the shop right now. They were shutting early as they had to go somewhere so didn't have a chance to quizzes them whether it could be bought a bit cheaper. Can check that tomorrow. Reckon it only just came in and is more than likely on consignment. Board felt good under the arm. Not a bulky 3"s thick. At 21"s slim enough with that double flyer and rounded pin I reckon it would be good in WA for a one board quiver sled.

Cheers boys, appreciate keeping the eyes peeled for me, any clue on the price?? Design looks right up my alley.
Anyone close to this place? www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kingscliff/surfing/6-8-vessel-surfboard/1247257352
I'm on it if it's still available, just need to know how much to ship to WA?
SP yeah I reckon you right on the money, Webber said SBA so likely their handy work.

Sorry CF didn't see the sticker with the price.
Outta my range ATM, just trying to find something half decent at half the price. Think I have but need to act fast on it with the Vessel, got no idea of shipping costs??
Help anyone?
Cuttlefish, I'll need to get some fin advice from you if I get that Vessels.
Look closely at the depression at the rear of the fin plug on the left side of the board. Could be ready to pop that plug if you use twin fins in it.
I'd still take the Clearwater over the vessel. Depends upon whether you want a big volume shortboard and that style of surfing or the Clearwater's glide advantage with a carvey style of surfing. Some Webber twins would work great in it I reckon. I'll drop in tomorrow morning for a better look at it.

Legend. but like I said I'm skint for coin mate. By the time I add freight I'm way outta my budget.
In fact I don't even have a budget, or so I'm told ;-)

Good spy CF. Mentioned it too him and got $30 off the price, can't pass it up at $120.
Can anyone help out on the shipping recommendations?

Why?? Why you doing this to me CF??? Why??
The more I look at that CW the more I lust for it, that's an absolute ripper hey.
If only it had futures boxes and I had the coin. I reckon if that had been around when I got the Webber it would have been a hard choice.
Still the Vessels is better than having nothing to ride at the moment other than my 40 year old 5'10 Egan single fin, and last time I took that out I got one lousy wave.

I reckon the freight would be more than the board was worth.
I used tnt to send a board over there years ago but it was a few hundred for a longboard.
Try e.go couriers they seem to be the cheapest over this way but your seller will have to pack it good and the cheapest option is usually if he can drop it off at a depot.
And if it arrives undamaged is a lottery.
You can get a quote online.
Yeah just got a couple of online quotes.
Looking at more for freight than the board is worth.
Dang, why nothing good over here at that price point.

Mr hydro i explained to my long time shaper about your predicament
Mr Steve Del Rosso from clearwater surfboard fame was like one of my boards no problem... i then told him It probably won't be. Steve thought about it for half a sec and said that's cool as long as the bloke gets in the water and it helps to sort his head out
So hydro, steve will ship a board for free for you to W.A,....would not be hard for you to pick it up from the Clearwater secret harbour shop
I never put disclaimers on **** if I am doing something to help....BUT i will say there is one, which should be pretty obvious,i will not help to ship an asian made board,it can be any brand,it just has to be made in Australia.....also i would be too embarrassed to ask steve to do that
So there you go,another benefit for having a long time shaper ![]()

Wow, I'm speechless. And you know it's hard for me to be short on words.
For guys I've never met or sat in the lineup with you are doing an absolute amazing favour and helping restore my faith in people.
Not gonna lie but 2019 was ****e, and then 2020 got worse. It's put me in blue tree territory that I never ever thought for one minute I'd end up in. And all for just trying to help out others. Really messed my head up and well had me thinking stupid thoughts.
Enough of that though, for all our differences in opinions Chrispy you are a legend and so is Mr Del Rosso, Cuttlefish and many others who have put themselves out on my behalf.
If I can find an Oz board and in my budget I will give you a shout out.
And will definitely keep looking at and for a CW.
Cheers for everything boys, may sunshine, long lines at uncrowded points and glorious and abundant ale be your Kama.
Sincerely

What? no takers??
It turns out that Mr Greg Webber is a real decent human.
I filled him in on my disappointment with my Webber snapping.
Long story short it was made under licence by others according to Greg's specs that gave it the finish and weight for the performance.
However my failure seemed to stem from a possible flaw in the blank.
And even though the board was by others Greg has offered to replace at cost with one shaped by him and glassed in Oz.
If I can scrape the cash together I'll take up his kind offer.
Hey Chrispy would that qualify for the shipping favour?
Cheers

P.S tell him I already buy my wax and other accessories from Secrets Shop. Will also be saving for a new wettie and will go there.

That's great hydro- the CW look like great boards and are really reasonably priced so either way you will get a great board. SDR & GW have a tremendous amount of experience- you will have an upgrade from that SBW @#$*!

Cheers Onefin,
Greg has offered to have it made on my side of the biscuit by a very well respected shaper and glasser.
And in PU with futures which would have been my preference in the first place. A little heavier and a little duller but that's me all over ![]()
All at a used board price.
The guys a legend who unfortunately has been burnt by sub standard workmanship of a contract shaper.
If anyone is looking at a Webber the Diamond is still an absolutely awesome midlength ride, seriously should be considered and looked at.
I have nothing but highest praise for how it performed and felt, but I would be getting in direct contact with Greg rather than an outlet.
As for SBWH, haha lets not go there hey. Other than the fact they are now pushing Nev's Oz built shapes, seems they can't get reliable supply from their traditional source ATM. All of which bodes well for local shapers and makers.

That's a great outcome. Congratulations.
The ricey on the tail of your snapped board you posted says it was made in Thailand, so it wasn't a local shaper.
i don't know if you saw the message I sent two days ago saying this, but Zak Ogram from Z Shapes does the Webber's in WA now - shape, glass and sand. His glass jobs are awesome. He also worked with Webber over East for a while, so you are getting a board from someone who knows how Greg wants things done. Zak speaks very highly of Webber's shapes and his surf froth.
