Hey Frenchfoiler,
the videos are enticing hey.
here's what I have found out and confirmed this from riders.
Some thoughts.I was thinking at my 85kg - 190 Vyper would work for Prone (most conditions), Wing (most conditions), SUP (somewhere between mid up to larger waves).
I was told the 190 Vyper - Is an efficient version of the 1250 that accelerates through turns more, pumps better but is not quite as 'snappy' in the pocket. It does seem to have a little less wing area at 1226cm2 verse 1250 1250cm2 (194in2).
Further.
The 210 hyper would be a really efficient, fun and fast version of the 1550 Armstrong. Acceleration through turns more, hold better speed between turns but you'll probably need the slightest bit more to get up. Area of 1550 v2 1550 cm2 - span: 938 mm, verse the hyper 210 1355 cm2 Span 960.
Also the 190v is a great "compromise" as it does so many things really well, stable fast turny!
Re the 210 vs 1550.the 210 is very rewarding but may be a little more "technical" to ride compared to the 1550. Everything else said I agree with, ie better glide, better pump, faster in a straight line and faster between turns, I've been prone down winding for couple years on my 210 and it inspires confidence to go wide out to sea (@yard15 Ash Wooley)
Do you think the new foil from the new Australia factory will be much dfferent than the one we can get right now ?
I really like the Hyper 170, I wonder if it would be worth it gettin g the new one ??
nah, I ordered on release, messaged for an update as meant to arrive end of august, still haven't heard back.
Fingers crossed they get some out soon be good to get some feedback from the general public. Pretty sure Adam could foil my kitchen table and still rip ![]()

He was on the WSL Qualifying Series from 2011 to 2017 then jumped to foiling... not exactly my path to here. I delude myself that the Vyper will improve my abilities, nevertheless.

Haha Right on! I feel the same way but whatever keeps the froth levels high can't be a bad thing.
Lately I've been using the new short fus on my Hyper 170 and I really like it, it feels more lively.

Good to hear!
Been using shorter fuses and really likeing them more and more.
(just have to figure out how to get the Takuma Kujira a shorter fuse)
How does the Hyper 170 foil in surf/ feel with short fuse?
Is it a bit skitsy like most HA wings or can hit some wash and feel alright still?
Waiting for the Vyper to come out to get some feedback on sizing.
Seems like for me (and heavier weight) the 170 is the perfect all around prone size wing if it does not have to wide of a wingspan.

Yes I really think the short fus makes it easier to turn tighter and to hit the white wash. On really small wave, the bigger shim gives more glide.
I don't see many people riding the hyper 150. I tried it couple months ago, it felt super fast and the stall speed was obviously more tricky than the 170. But now I realize the stall speed wasn't too bad compared to other ha wing in this range.
Now I'm wondering if the glide and the pumping on the Vyper will be the same as the Hyper ???
Just chatting to misterbennetts on Insta & he mentioned the Vypers will be available in the next few weeks.
The 170 is only 81.5cm wide, I wouldn't expect to pump much better than the Kujira 980 but hope it does.

The one drawback about the Kujira is not being able to have a different shorter fuse length. 980 is an amazing foil but happy to give up pump to be able to turn better/ have a shorter fuse length. Very torn on high aspect/ speed/ vs turning/ white wash hits. Want to carve with longer fuse one day, then next day be able to feel spicy have shorter fuse and hit wash the next. Can do that with Signature/ Armstrong/ Axis/ Unifoil right now (kind of with Lift but 34 tail is discontinued and have aftermarket tail adaptor) Fuse length is being dictated by winging (winging is about long fuse) want to prone surf semi small waves which seems to be best with a shorter fuse. (just my opinion) Long fuse is good for bigger waves/ drawn out tow foil surfing, longer ark carves, learning being more locked in. Working on trying foil surf waves like I surf a wave not on foil which seems to equal shorter fuse lengths.
81.5 cm is plenty for pumping at around 32 inches.
Kujira 980 is 80 cm 31.5 inches and has plenty of pump.
Signature anounced the 170 game changer and would be great to compare the Uni Vyper vs Game changer.
Given the history with the two companies and both having great foils/ sharing a designer at one point. Will be neat to see how they compare.
Fun times ahead!
pocketbook might take a hit wanting to be the first to compare...

Still trying to find the right balance with having a short fuse with bigger stab/ tail wing and how that relates to having tighter turn lower stall speed vs having a short fuse and smaller tail wing and higher stall speed. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Just depends on foil. Some foils have a more front foot feel and can get away with a smaller tail/ stab vs others with more back foot feel and they like a bigger/ wider stab when going with a short fuse. Super exciting to be in the sport when all is developing still so quickly.
Given how well other medium aspect foils pump the Vyper foils should be in a nice sweet spot for turning but still pumping/ gliding well.
The hyper 150, 170, 190 are on my list to try hopefully some day. Seems like no one has them in socal where I am. At least no one has the newer versions where you can have the smaller changable fuse lenth.
Dw with the Hyper 170/82 mast/18" flat stab. This is the foil I will use now when it is at least 20 nd.

a guy named Alejandro down in Orange County is the unifoil dealer. He has a hyper 170 setup for sale right now. Josh at the foil shop in seal beach can also get most anything you want ordered into the shop.

Thanks for heads up. Much appreciated. Will have to reach out to see if anyone has a short fuse hyper set up.
Well looks like something is going on with Unifoil, Adam seems to ride a Lift 120 more than his pro model the Vyper...
James Casey seemed to like the vyper 130 in that clip of them together. I'm sure Adam's having trouble getting new ones too as the factory in aus keeps getting completely shut down due to covid lockdowns.
