From my understanding wing flex is not a good thing and usually is from construction issues. We have made plenty of custom wings and the hardest part is getting them stiff enough for testing. The high aspect wings are harder as they are so thin and every wing we made that had to much flex felt like **** in any kind of turn. This makes prototyping wings quite hard but also one of the challenges that I like.
Where the line is for two much flex in a wing I guess is unknown but from all my testing the stiffer the better on the wing front.
Thanks Jacko ,So do they feel twitchy in a turn or unpredictable or want to suddenly overturn, just trying to understand how you would recognize a flexing wing.
Jako, have you tried the Unifoil 210 on DW ?
Do you think the Unifoil and Signature are different regarding construction ? Signature foil are more expensive, is it the reason why ?

Yeah used it on a small DW and really struggled.
I would have to check again with a guy who has a signature but from memory it felt like the unifoil wings had more flex but hard to say 100% with out them next to each other.

I tried with the down curve stab and I the flat stab, the flat stab was way better, more speed, more glide. I didn't tried on wave as it is too big for me.
How was the flex of the 250?
I am used to Axis wings and need the help of a stiff foil to balance.
Is the carbon mast tapered?
What bag do you need for air travel with this wing?

For DW the Signature 250 with flat stab (not the down curve) has better glide and it is easier to take off but it feels a little bit more instable paddling because of the flex in the mast.
Any review with the 210 Signature for dw ? Looks like on Hawaiia and SA guys kill it on those.

When Matt O'Rourke bought the rights to Signature Australia he was unaware that they were rebranded Uni foils . There is much more to the story but that's it in a nut shell . Unifoils were all hand made by Cliff the founder in South Africa . Matt set up a factory in China to manufacture Signature in volume . That same factory now manufacturers Unifoils . Signature now have their manufacturing set up so both brands are now completely seperate with different R&D . Some differences now showing . Uni has a 170 Hyper - Signature has a 165 Albatross (same wing smaller)
Uni has the 175 & 150 Vortex = Signature 175 Stealth plus they have added a 200 . Both brands are now doing split fuselage on all new models and will slowly start changing older models to split fuse as well.

Before the lockdown I was able to tried the 210 Signature I did some short run upwin/downwind, I was impressed by the speed and the glide, definetly the fastest wing I've ever tried DW.
Taking off on bumps wasn't too hard, way easier than on the 1000 or 900 Axis, I would say maybe similar to 101 Axis.

The bit of mast flex was fine on the prone and wings are well made but you will have to be careful. Would I buy one as my daily rider probably not , I would definitely like to own one but it would be my second foil for the perfect days. As Jacko mentioned above it's pretty hard to past something like a Takuma 1300 as your daily rider. If you have the spare cash and own more than one foils then this is a must have. Definitely recommend you demo one first though and try and have one long good session if not 2 as quiet a few punters have tried and only caught 4 or 5 waves came in and couldn't ride them.
I tried the Sig Albatross 165 (pretty much same as 170 Uni) with chop flat stab 15''.
Like said Jako, it felt super wobbly and unstable at first. And like said Piros it takes multiples waves to get used to it.
I also moved the foil more forward (it was way a the back and I didn't have enough lift). It was a brand new board, alittle bit longer than what i ususally ride (4'1 to 4'4) so I didn't know exactly where to put the foil.
The more I've been using it, the more I like it, very fast, you can push hard on the turn it will hold but you have to find the right amount of pressure (very sensitive). It pumps great but once again super technical, you have to maintain your speed using a different technique (keeping really hight the foil at all time), but you can go so fast that you can push harder and hold longer on the carving turn while connecting. Turning ability, I think like most of hight aspect wing, it is good for carving turns and down the line turns but not the best for vertical turns.
I like the glide and the speed of the hight aspect wing, even if i loose some performance out of the vertical surfing.

I also tried the Albtros 165 & loved it instantly this suprised me as I previously tried the Uni 170 & I didn't like it back about 12 months ago.
The 165 has heaps of glide and can be pumped really easily to connect waves, I found it also turns pretty good for a HA wing - at low speed you can throw it around & at higher speed it's a scarey fast carve.
