yep, the Green Bump looks about right ! I can attest to the depth at LAT is only 2.2mtr.

Called 'Ox rock" because the Ox put the Sydney 41 up there.
Datum is far less than 2.2 as well in one spot off the sounding mark.
I did a rough chart and sent to MSQ years ago and from memory the MSQ chart has close to the correct datum of 1.65m reduced.

I went back to my chook scratchings I call a log book, and you're right, you did mention it, I even wrote it down..

What did I do ..... here goes...gave our Perkins 4236 a Birthday! Pulled heat exchanger off, pulled gearbox oil cooler off and serviced, took head off, planed head, relplaced exhaust valves, had injectors cleaned and serviced, replaced cracked engine mount, relocate gearbox oil cooler, fitted new Bowman heat exchanger, replumbed oil cooler and gearbox oil cooler, fitted new thermostat housing, re hung alternator on new bolts and bracket, fitted new down draught inlet manifold, modified exhaust, serviced engin, fitted gate taps in block for new hot water Collins unit to plumb into, cleaned bilge!
Other than that not much!!

Had a win with the engine gauges, when the ignition was turned on they pegged full up scale. So after a lot of testing and tweeking as I was certain that I had caused the problem while doing something else to the bulkhead that the wiring loom runs through, I cleaned up an earth wire that didn't look crook at all and bingo ! Alls good in gauge land again, with no ocassional flickering of the needles that should of wized me up to an earth issue from the start.

Just have to find a sea water pump and polish the brass . You would think South Ace would have polished it for me
Handel in a fixed position from now on no internals needed just a pump

This Johnston below Im not sure if it would like sea water any one know its made for fresh but its around 4 litres a min

Its not finished yet but so far so good
I've got a short bolt holding the pump handle I think Ill add a spacer and longer bolt to the handle can be in a more natural position

I just stuck a piece or srink wrap on the bold for now Ill cut some tubing it would be a bit naught to try and fit a button switch under the top Id have to drill a hole into the top and I dont want to do that a button some where else will do

be good for washing the dishes in sea water

Thanks old mate much appreciated hand pump

I'm going to run it down to a small Esky and add a water container from some place like Aldi and when its hot weather place some of those
Cold freezer packs so I can have cool water in summer

Finally! After months of trying, we managed to get measured today for our ORCI certificate. Everything has to come off the boat first, imagine turning your boat upside down, if it can fall out it comes off. The only thing left when we finished were the lines and the boom, 5 of us took over 2 1/2 hours to get everything onto the dock.
Sails went up on the grass and measured, then we had to test for stability. We rigged a couple of spinnaker poles for supporting a series of weights , and using a water level the heel angle is measured and recorded. The distance to the weights from centreline is recorded also.


We were getting results like 100 kg of weights at approx 3mtrs will give you a heel angle of one or two degrees.


Then the weights are moved one at a time to the opposite beam, each time a dataset is created. What this does is help find the boats centre of gravity, which is then entered into the boats electronic reference file which allows you to virtually rotate the boat through the heel angles, building a GZ curve, which helps calculate your ORCI handicap number.
Good fun, I learned a lot. Then we had to put everything back on the boat again. Not so much fun.10 hours start to finish, tired but a great day.

I puzzle why you still have to do that exercise.

I did the same exercise on my Peterson 42 in Cairns about 1993. The silly thing is that this form of measuring stability only gives an initial stability curve. On a boat like Fusion with her huge beam, initial stability will be rock solid.

A truer measure of a yacht's stability is only achieved when she is pulled over onto her beam ends with the deck being vertical and the amplitude of her swinging measured till she sits stable again.

Surely with the price you paid for her Pogo would provide you with a full stability table which presented to any yacht measurement authority would suffice and obviate the process you have just been through.

With the beam Fusion has, will she self right if inverted 180 degrees??

Because of a few very dodgy French (read Beneteau 45) builders certificates, Sailing Australia will not accept builders data.

It will make anchoring easier, so far instaled but no wiring done yet, midle deck was foam sadwich and was replaced with 18mm hard wood plywood. Should I invest in chain counter? What pros or cones?

Have we lost interest in our beloved boats? Where's the updates H2o and Crisco kid ? I'm waiting to get on the slip before Christmas for a Antifoul and cut n polish after 3 years and never seen the boat out of the water.

In the mean time I have been updating the interior with new carpets and upholsterys as well as other improvements and cleaning!

Also just replaced the element in my new 2 year old Italian made hot water service.... Bloody calcium in this town is crazy.

Doing a 65 year service in hospital at the moment south ace
I was thinking king about the cat on here that was making a spray dodger
And thought perhaps a 4 x 4 Ute
Alloy ladder rack night work from. Wrecking yard with a bit of mod work

I installed a pair of nip pourers so I don't spill too much of my favourites!!

Both can be dimmed

Second Wind is still a work in progress as is all the real estate crap that takes up my time.

The mast is nearly ready to go back up after I cut an exit slot for the second spinnaker halyard and thread it.

She has been on the hardstand for a year now at a cost of $7020 so I am not too worried if she is there a little longer.

The plan is to not have to slip again for at least 2 more years.

Rode counters are luverly particularly if you have a remote up/down switch aft. Not too hard to install and save all that chain marking/mark watching bother. Maxwell have them.

Finally replaced the leaking copper pipe that drains the foredeck locker with a proper skin fitting. Tested in a good old heel yesterday. Result - dry bed!

Also revarnished "Frankenhelm", the connector on the tiller for the autohelm - and replaced the rusty steel "test" plates I put on for a quick size check - a year ago!

Gees Cisco I pay $3000 per year for a nice safe Marina berth although it costs me $2000 for annual haul out still saving $2000 less than you and can use the yacht anytime I pleasure.

Im sticking to a 3 year haul outs with hempal anti-foul and the occasional diver scrub.

The offset is that when she is on this mooring the annual licence fee is $50. Fifteen minutes from leaving home I am onboard the yacht.

Yep, we entered just in case (or guilty hope!) we had another cancellation of the measurement. It's supposed to be done in zero breeze so we had quite a few false starts, the idea being if we had to can it again, we'd simply throw the sails back on and head for the start line .
