Indestructable steel hull, good designer, nice clean uncluttered interior, solid dodger, shoal water ability, well maintained.
just my opinion though, we all have different taste.
I would dispute the indestructible steel hull bit. There is an immaculate steel Adams 36 motorsailer here at the moment. The other steel yachts here are a mixture of heavily maintained vessels and rusting hulks.
I was refering to the boat in the add not poorly maintained hulks.

I like to see someone here put a Sydney to Hobart syndicate together with Rogue Wave and then some of us can then cross it off the Bucket List.
She's in pretty good nick, but there would be more competitive Hobart boats for the same $ or less. That's not a criticism, more a reflection of the fact that RW seems more like an all-rounder than a Hobart racer.

- yes, interesting spot for the wheel.
I like it . Would make single handing easy and you could tuck up under the dodger whilst at the helm,, looks real comfortable, it puts you in about the same pozzy when using a tiller.

In addition to the wheel tucked under the dodger there's numerous hints that it's built for Tassie:
- foam insulated
- Diesel heater in saloon
- no shower
- stereo cassette player 
Looks like boom roller reefing and hanked on headsails and very minimal sail controls. A solo sailor's nightmare!
If someone with the right skills spent another 15k on a furler, new winches etc. they'd have pretty decent classic S&S.
I'd have to do something with that helm though, and would hope its fit out is compatible with a steel hull.

If you do decide to get rid of that flasher sounder I'll have first dibs. I have a Lowrance version in my yacht and one in my tender and another spare from HG. {same as yours}.

They could introduce a Cessna SIDs type program like has been done for Cessna 100 series aircraft.
It would basically involve the insurance company nominating a shipwright to pull your boat apart and put it back together to check its

Dunno many 36'ers that pay for crew training and deliveries. I haven't done a Hobart for eons but we used to kick the tin for food and some of the crew would bring the boat back. I even know a very competent sailor who, along with others of the crew, bought "his" owner a new headsail for the Hobart. As he said, he respected the fact that the owner decided he didn't want to update that sail but since my mate isn't short of bucks he bought the skipper a present.

I notice some other neglected boats around Port Stephens are also currently for sale - perhaps Maritime has been sniffing around them.

The one in the ad has a 'glass deck. You can see in the photos where the bulkheads are bonded in. There are timber decked Defiances though and at least one all timber one like in the photo above. There are also 2 boats with fibreglass decks on double diagonal timberhulls!
