Gerroa had waves today, too sick to kite though...
Wasn't any kites when I took photos, but gives you an indication anyway.

Anyone get wind?

great clear pics.
went to warilla. some nice waves there too.
14m RPM was a little overcooked this arvi almost getting blown off the edge, so had a go on a new switch Nitro 4 12m.
i was all ready to dis the kite, but build quality looked up there with the more common brands. big boosts and very glidey(~dont even think thats a word...lol) didnt mind it at all.
very easy to boost well, quick through the turns and drifted much better than the edge.
but still grinning from the big jumps

I bet it was good at Warilla.
If I was healthy I was going to go there for a look.
Weekends forecast looks a bit iffy.

Hey Matt,

A few of us got into the water in the northern illawarra. All the beach breaks are stuffed at the moment, so it was some lifeless Sandon lefts.

Had an invitation to use a North Dice 8 sq m and in the 20 kts was quite a fun kite to fly. Super easy, lite and smooth.

I won't be buying as already I got way too many in the garage..!!!

Been a while between kites.

You going to Merrimbula.??

Hey welcome home Tony!
We did a downwinder up your way last weekend, can see plenty of potential at East corrimal.
Such a good direction, keen to try again with more waves...
Yep, I'm going down. Looking forward to it!

It's been pretty crappy here the past week or so.
All this rain is killing the wind.
Wind with waves forecast for the weekend though, bring on the southerly!

Yesterday was good in the lake.
Southerly is already up, so should be a mad day today in the waves.

Didn't miss much up in the gong. Kited Peggie's but the wind kept dropping. Tied was high so pretty washed out.

Hey Matt,

Hope you scored..??

Was some (fly) work for me then a frantic session at a well know north Illawarra beach. The (sand) banks at this site have been ****e for months and months but I can say there is some possibility now and it's on the repair.

Shane and Troy (had 12's) did a downwinder and ended up coming out when myself and Leo entered.

Was fun, must say. All I can remember was a blur of spray and movement from Leo.

Big kites, mine was a 10 and Leo had 11. Maybe it did pick up late arvo but beer o clock had called..

We should organise a Illawarra day out.

Your way or your way or maybe meet half way with the Windang crew.???

I've started the ball rolling...

Let's chat..

Good to hear you got good waves, sad to hear it wasn't windy!

I kited gerroa bombie and it was the BEST I have ever seen it! 4-6 foot cross off, put the 12 up in the morning and had perfect power.
Kited with ross for an hour or so then he bailed. I was out there for another 3 hours feeling lonely by myself.
Came in for a burger from the gerroa beach cafe (so bloody good), then pumped back up and hit it again.
I used the 12 again; once I got out the back I was kicking myself because it was perfect wind for an 8m. I was planing with the kite fully depowered and bar fully out! Haha. The wave had more chop on the face because it was windier, but still pretty damn good.

Gerroa bombie:better than namotu lefts. Yep I said it.

Hey Matt,

Totally jealous of you riding the bombie. Had that thought many a time, bummer to miss..!!!

The next 4 days look GREAT...about time... but don't think this swell has much left in it..

We chat. Peace.

Grrrrrr Matt...I did a drive your way today as it was raining at home in the AM.

Checked your "bombie" as I was keen the look at the "get in and get out spot". Looks fun, i reckon I've got it sorted..

No real waves at "7 mile" so...

I ended back at our usual NE place "easty's" and the sand is returning... some nice waves to be had .. got a few turns in..

I soloed a midday session for 2 hours then joined the "woo town" boys for a few waves later. Troy was kiting really well.

Best day for me since the NW of WA in September...

This summer has started slow.. but the rest of the week and into early next week looks sic..

Did you see me at Werri on your way past today...? PM me re. in and out spot if you want.

Wind was patchy so I threw up the 12. Next minute i was tacking into the beach and had wayyyyyy too much speed, had to flick off the board in the shorey and skied across the beach a good 20m. haha.

Put the 8 up instead and had a lot of fun! I think I just love the 12 soo much it clouds my kite size decision!

Hey Simon (kitcho207)

Happy you feel the lack of wind is not your fault...don't want to increase that psychosis.. LOL.

Trust me, the other side is ok...

Takes some adjustments for the family but at the end of the day, each day is worth living to the max...

Personal observation of course..

NE er's are stacking up for next week..Wow.!!

Re. the get together, I've messaged nswkba and I'll see if we can't try and get an event day organised down here over summer. They happen all the time up in Sydney, so it'd be fun to get one on down this way for our areas.

This looks soooo good. Nice pics. What is the best time to go down that side (wind direction)? I only wave ride and this looks like heaven... worth the trip from Sydney. Camping spots nearby?
