Hey Cauncy,
Thanks to yourself and others organsing. Good its in hands of kiters. Have you contacted Toby from Kiteforum at all? Long way from home but hey can only ask and he'd no dount add to the spectacle on tje beach. Myself and a few others have booked house in Gero just counting the months down. Feels like its gonna be a great thing, first of many years perhaps! Is appearance money really a thing for "pro" kiters???

Appears so,
the event is a non profit gig, if it were then the would be some money in the bank to attract the biggest names, Ruben Lenten sent his costings to attend, it'd be nice to see some brands support, after all we buy their gear, so not a big ask to send a brand rider

Just my opinion, but i think it stinks a little. The vibe you guys are creating feels perfect, laid back/fun/casual. If someone needs to be paid to come to promote their brand/s....stay home. No doubt there's lots of things your trying to incorporate that cost $

If anything big names should be contributing $ not the other way around. Just my opinion of course. I think Toby aka mr airstyle would struggle to hold onto his 18m Norths in proper West Aussie breeze, be awesome to see him try anyway :-) He could pay his airfare with Dvds sales on the beach after putting on a show for the crowd.

I agree, but most of my opinions have been shot down by bullies threatening violence previously.
Eppo, Cauncy?
Also Len10 should be thankful for the kiting communities donations and jump at the chance of giving back something to the sport and people who looked out for him and donated, that is the kiteboarding community. The same people who now continue to support him and his brand. I am fully stoked either way!
Also Dusta, it's funny how previously they shot down everything everyone ever said down n now play out to be cool guy's... Faaarkn UNBELIEVABLE..

Good luck with your ventures to all.

So far I've had 6 meeting of 160 klm round trip, 3 days off work
for the event, I spend approx 5/6 hrs per week emailing regards the event, I'll be taking 2 weeks off to do a load of logistics starting next week, I've personally commited 2 weeks off to escort pro riders and help promote their brands, collect them from airport(800)klm, help accomodate them, all at my cost, after the latest meeting with Geraldton events we've a big 2 months of organisation ,
I'm not making a cent from this, I'm doing it for our region,sport/ and enjoyment, my running cost for my household and business would be close to $9000 , per month,
What are you contributing scrotum??

Great work getting this happening Mick and the rest of the crew.

We will be there for sure with Ozone, Core, Liquid Force and Ocean Rodeo gear as well as Axis, Firewire and some new Sunova surfboards.

I can also bring a Jet Ski if you think it will help ??

A jet ski would be a great idea - if all the guns and 'keyboard warriors' are pushing past their limits..
It could possibly save someones life..

Cauncy - its a big job, dont be shy in asking us to help out, kiting is fun and helping each other out is what we do..
Ive got holidays the week before...
Perhaps on here or facebook - post a list of what you need help with and we can volunteer what we can manage

I am unable to find the facebook event. This is going to be the best way to share around and get some real interest in the event. Do you have a link???

Guys
We have plans to host a wind event here in the midwest at the end of november
It'll be a no/low cost event to all, we've already got some great ideas and criteria for the event
However were committed to make this an event a hit
Please feel free to comment on what would make you want to attend
I'll be posting updates on a regular basis and will soon be advertising on SB events
Hope to see you up here

Let me know if you need some help setting up the Seabreeze Event and Facebook Event pages, then I can send this out to other shops, kiteboarding groups etc. in WA :)

I have FaceBook and have now liked the page.

I am not too good with using FB so did not post on there, but is there anyway that sponsors and relevant parties can link into this so that they can promote what gear and the like that they are bringing up with them??

Hi guys, thanks for all the good vibes and offers of help, it's appreciated and I hope we can use them.

Just to lower expectations a little, Mick has set the dates and a roughy format, so now we are starting the process of event approvals from the City of Geraldton, Dept of Transport etc. This involves dealing with lots of forms and bureaucracy, but also insurance, risk management and maybe budget. So we wont be going too hard on the marketing and publicity front until we have these core things sorted and any showstoppers identified / resolved.

Fallback position is we just go kiting that weekend anyway and have a ball whatever!

Cheers

Dave

Big thanks to dave whettingsteel , we've a fair few ditches to jump over for the event, but unfortunately that's the way it is today, we will certainly need a hand as things progress, if anyone is keen, either contact dave or myself,

Mick's done all the hard work getting on the blower to 95% of the global kitesurf industry!!

Drew from WAKSA has been super helpful giving me a pile of risk management plans from previous events WAKSA has run. Will improve the event safety, help satisfy authorities that we are not all nuts, and made my work a lot easier.
Also Alex and now Declan from KA are being super helpful getting insurance nailed down. Wish my dayjob went as well!

Hi guys, I've been getting heaps of emails regarding accomadation
If you contact Geraldton visitors centre, they will direct you towards the type of accomadation you require, The event is planned for Slsc back beach or point Moore, both are real close to each other and have options close, worth noting is we are planning to end up at coronation beach after our big downwinders , a sunset session / food / tunes /and coldy,s are planned, there's a couple of options , camping here also
cheers
