I just read a book about the Viking era 1100 years ago , all the archaeological digs are 2 meters above current sea level because that's where the sea level was a thousand years ago , ten thousand years ago you could walk to Tasmania or Papua .

The world is an amazing place

The enviro-nazis of the green religion will tell us that only humans can change the environment, but they are too narrow-minded to learn

The sea was 120 metres lower 100,000 years ago at the last ice age, it rose very quickly at a much faster rate than it is rising now, to the level it is now about 5000 years ago.

There has been some oscillation of the sea level high stand, each place is different, but the mostly likely reason the Viking locations are 2 metres above sea level today is uplift of the land.

Science and geology are far more complex and interesting than the one dimensional 'human-induced climate change religous zealots' would have us believe.

BS enviros and greenies would not say only humans can change the environment, they would say that humans are obviously changing the environment in this instance.

Core samples of the past show the atmosphere has naturally been through radical changes regarding climate, the difference with the present climate change is the speed it's happening and the cause - human activity since the industrial revolution. dur

Nah, nothing unusual about the changing climate

Global Temps are only slightly increasing after a 18 year hiatus and there is nothing unusual about it

And sea level rises are not unusual

Nothing unusual about the rate either

Do you think there are any natural causes to the current climate change or all just human induced?

The whole process is natural because humans have unnaturally flooded the atmosphere with pollution.

Human caused 'climate change' has become a new religion, such is their absolute belief in their 'facts'.

The sun as a factor in any 'claimed' increase in temperature should not be entertained.

To entertain such a possibility these days - it would be called a conspiracy theory,a term coined by the Powers That Be to mock those who oppose them.

Peter, I don't think anyone is denying that other factors can and do change the climate; solar and volcanic activity among them, but we have no control over those. The cause of climate-change that we may be able to control is human-induced climate change.

To say that we may be able to control this aspect doesn't mean we ever will of course, that is proving extremely difficult.

Good thinking T that's the way to right the wrongs ! Allow some global warming , that will mean we will burn less fuel to keep warm ..... Problem will be fixed. ............ Oh hang on we may need to use more energy to keep cool ! Doh !

The media or should I say their media slant the discussion to indoctrinate the masses in to believing their science.

You will rarely read stories going the other way,but that's coincidence not con right Bono

You know full well the establishment are a bunch of liars, yet there's still trust there for you?

Carbon Dioxide is a greenhouse gas. It lets one wavelength pass through, and blocks another wavelength. Like glass in a greenhouse.
This is simple science. A simple fact.

It has been entertained.

Well just look at Venus if you're still in denial about greenhouse gas. There's so much of that odourless, invisible gas, you'd be crushed to the size of a tennis ball just standing on the surface and then morph into a cinder a few seconds later.

Harmless really.

There's the evidence that higher concentrations of carbon dioxide, which is a plant food after all, is actually greening the planet and helping to lift agricultural yields

Earths atmosphere 0.0004% co2, of which only 3% is from humans, which equates to 0.000012% of earths atmosphere!

Venus is 96% co2

Do you think comparing earth to venus it is a tad alarmist?

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong...

It's 0.04%. Not unlike the blood alcohol limit for driving.

Over 40% of that has come from humans since the industrial revolution.

NOAA said...
Atmospheric CO2 levels have increased from about 315 ppm in 1958 to 378 ppm at the end of 2004, which means human activities have increased the concentration of atmospheric CO2 by 100 ppm or 36 percent.

source: http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2005/s2412.htm

That's 36% since 1958.

Our contribution is rising. THAT IS THE ISSUE. If it stopped now, we'd be fine. But it's not. We're getting drunk in the corner.

If my blood alcohol level was 0.04% that sounds like a very small number, yeah? But I have to drive home.
Should I start drinking stronger drinks? That's what you are advocating.

The layer of glass in a greenhouse is even less than 0.04%. The greenhouse effect is irrefutable.

NOAA's math needs some schooling;
378-
315
=63.
Its a 20% increase, which is still troubling, IF their original figures are correct.
Their original assumption that 100 is 36% of 315 is also incorrect, it is 31.75%. Who the fluck is doing the science/maths at NOAA...
If they want to be taken seriously as an academic authority on the subject some simple fact checking would be nice.
