OK, I have a three step plan to make us the lucky country again.
Step 1: Invest in automation and efficient machinery for mass production.
Step 2: Round up everyone who has been on the dole continuously for 12 months or longer and train them up to work machines in the new factories; these people have already shown they are no good for anything else and if they don't want to work there, they lose their benefits.
Step 3: Profit.

Efficient OH&S and cameras everywhere in the factories. You can't trust those long term dole-bludgers.
At least the current drop in politicians travel claims goes a long way towards offsetting the cost of the dole.....

Could be a placebo effect if people believe the lines put forward by Palmer, trump et al, and request to take it, which could be beneficial?

I do not think it is people who prefer free enterprise, home ownership and social change to be well thought out are doing the medical trial,
I think it might be science or medical type people, who may or may not be progressive, but are professionals, so are seeking apolitical outcomes

I am guessing it might be the idea that they think they know everything and they are thinking its not a new thing and obviously there must be something we already have that we can use. "See, we didn't need to panaic, we all just had to take a Bex each day" is what they are hoping.

No I'm not, where did you get that idea from? I hope they find something and find it fast but my comment was why limit trials to just one drug, hydroxychloroquine a quinine based anti-malarial, or is the Covid19 virus similar in composition to whatever is passed from mosquito to human that causes malaria?

Yeah, and without blind trials, how will they know it worked? "sure, we found that this new vaccine AND tomato sauce helped lower the rate of infection"
