Your profile says WA - if in Perth try and demo what you can to see what you like and if the foil boxes/foot straps are in suitable positions. SUSS, surfland and kiteaddiction have all been really easy to demo stuff for me.

Im 80kg and bought the 80L Smik. After being on 115L for 6 months I spent 3 sessions getting used to the smaller board, but easily the most enjoyable upgrade once you adapt. All the fun is in riding the foil, not the board.

How are you liking the smik after a few months? Good release off the water? I. looking at the 80 or 93l, other option is maybe an axis board. Cheers

I'm 100-105pies, after a year of winging, I went Fanatic Sky Wing 2022, no need for carbon, marginal weight savings, these boards are all you need, ignore that fancy stuff. The new fanatic gets on foil so easy, and for me 95L is good, could of gone 85L but sketchy wind here. I ride with GF RS wings and mast all the way forward. Fanatics are cheaper than most and you just don't need to spend big $ on a board IMO, don't listen to the marketing departments or insta people.

I have tried
- 80L quatro - was good but volume too low
- 75 FG - good too corky
- 88L FG - good board, but fanatic better
- 56L KT Drifter, great board but too long for semi sinker

Thanks - good insight. im 90kg + 5/4 winter wetty and boots so probably 95kg and been using the Naish 110.
Can now gybe (99% on one tack and probably 75% on the other, and learning tacks), and tried a 90 Phazer and 95 Fanatic '22.
i thought they would be a challenge but in any wind (was 20kts) it was super easy, gybed first time etc....loved the Fanatic. Was wondering about TE but im gonna stick with the standard red/pink one. Just gotta decide if i go 85 (and keep my Naish for light days) or go the 95 as do it all board

I laid the Fanatic 85L on top of the 95L and there's nothing in it, so I choose more volume for lighter days.

I've ordered a Naish hover wing foil carbon ultra 2022 4'10 x 22.5 x 3 4/5 x 60L - high wind > 20knots, and can prone it too.

I need two boards, almost the cost of 1 board of the expensive brands...
