Pull the front bridle lines from the control bar side to the wing canopy by hand. This will automatically position all the leading edge reinforcement battens next to each other.
Easier packing is the obvious advantage, but with shorter lines and lower aspect ratio, this PW will probably feel easier to use and more powerful, though with less upwind performance and speed.Any insights ?
This looks very Interesting to me even if there is some upwind performance loss I'm not too fused but i hope the lines are Kevlar and not dyneema. Also, I like to use the rear line stall to stow method and this wing looks like only the front lines are thicker but I guess I can change method. Leading edge looks very nice with all the bridal connection points. Very much looking forward to hearing more. Looks very nice.

You would need cut proof gloves to use Kevlar lines, no chance.

Yeh I did a bit more research and seems Kevlar isn't the way to go. The BRM and Gong lines are nice whatever that material is. Just not the Ozone Dyneema please!
Sabfoil Ala dw lines are great and doesn't tangle that much Vs my pocket rocket. Ozone has way to many lines on the Ozone pocket Vs Sabfoil Ala dw. The new version seems to have many lines as well=drag.

So what's a secondhand pocket rocket worth now?
Interesting how they very specifically encouraged beginners to stick with the pocket rocket, I wonder in practice how different they are.
I'm one of those that loved the pocket rocket but also wasn't a huge fan of the material used for the lines. As someone with no kiting background I'm exceptionally good at getting tangles and ozones lines seem to do it more often than say a frigate I was also using.
Looks like the huge leaps in performance are slowing, increased wind range is really what I'm hoping to see.

yeh think there is some over reaction here . I've used the PR many times now (4.3 and 3.6) and if you are competant enough there is no issue with the lines - like any bit of kit you learn to use it. But man they are so good to fly and rip upwind if needed. But no doubt they could be better but not a deal breaker for me. Just learn your pack down and get better.

Not sure I'd categorise it as an over reaction, I still consider the PR in the upper echelon of currently available parawings but if we are going to compare products against each other on a product as simple in design as a parawing something like line material seems like a fair category to rate it upon and point out room for improvement.

From this review it confirms what I had guessed about the power packs upwind abilities. Not as good as the pocket rocket but still pretty decent. It would be weird if ozone brought out a pwing that didn't go upwind at all.

Same as before. This isn't a replacement product so there's no change in value IMO.

So how does the PR that scores 10/10 goes upwind against a wing? Is that similar?
Pretty similar once you have it dialed. I'm a little more efficient with a wing, but I'm also just more experienced with a wing (and I can hit 100% of my tacks with a wing vs 0% with a parawing where I am gybing). If I take too hard an angle with the parawing, and I hit less powered water (like the back of swell), I need to bear off a little to keep lift in the foil. Hard to explain until you feel it, but I feel like theres a finer line with the parawing between going upwind efficiently and pointing too far. The real experienced guys are going upwind just as efficiently with a PR vs a wing. PR seems to be one of the most efficient single skins upwind and double skins are even more efficient than the PR.
Reasonable comparison other than the windspeed being lower for the wing but the foil and location is the same.

So, extremely close if all you are considering is upwind angles.

Look frwd to feeling how that cupped trailing edge and fuller 'parachute' profile of the cells behaves when edging hard upwind.
Will all that 'scooping' not contribute to canopy bagging out with all those water starts?
