Anyone have an idea when these might be appearing in stores in Aus? Keen to upgrade my 4m wing before the Perth summer is here, and really like the look of this fixed handle design.

2022 Unit gets discussed around 3 minutes in.

Duotone will be at the Kite & Wing demo day next weekend. Hoping to get a hands-on and an ETA then..

Looks like a nice wing. Wonder how durable those screw in handles will be over time.

This handle system looks like it would work just fine for me. Now put one on the LE too and get rid of that pathetic floppy little piece of webbing...

i rode the new Unit at the Hood River show. I use Units now, and will be getting the new ones. The new handles felt great. The only thing I wonder is if the handles should have been less parallel and angled out slightly like the BRM front handle or like a pair of handlebars. I find w/ the current Units, I hold the handles close to inside mounting points... feels like an ergonomic angle. I suppose with the screw on design of the new handles, people could fab their own handles as well. That said, I liked everything about the new Unit, especially the DLab version. chicken dinner.

They say they are already in line to be unloaded off the ship...
So maybe June 2023-ish.

+1 and please make a better deflate valve; in cold weather it's really tough to get the plug out of the valve even if wetting it when putting it in.

Thanks for the info, bet those handles help to make the strut more rigid too. Could you ride it one handed like the old units? With only 2 handles the balance point would be in between the two plastic handles yeah?

Plenty of two handle wings can be ridden with one hand. If the front handle is long enough (which the Unit's handle appears to be) and positioned correctly you just hold that handle all the way towards the back. I do it all the time on a Mantis and have done it on other 2 handle wings as well. In fact I haven't found a 2 handle wing where this didn't work.

That feeling when you're all stoked with a new 2021 unit, to find out 2 days later they did a complete redesign for 2022

Anyone thats seen them in the flesh - what are the handles screwed onto...just onto the main strut? And how does it pack down?

there's a large patch that is sewn to the center strut. the patch extends in both directions several inches. don't know how it packs down, as they were all inflated the whole time. handles felt very solid and very good. me likey. me getting some hopefully in December.

Those handles could put some proper dings in your board...
As much as there are benefits to stiff handles & the direct feedback they give - I'm not sure if they outweigh the risk of board damage...

I would not worry about that, they are plastic,a wing weighs only 3.5kg or less and it would be pretty easy to DIY some EVA foam padding on the handle ends if needed.

This is confirmed. Available colours at launch will be:
C01: Mint Grey
C02: Purple Grey

Available sizes will be:
2.0m - 6.5m (in 0.5m increments). No sign of a 7.0m.

Kind of painful for dealers to have so many sizes and variations, but good for us.
