Good looking board for that size, sensible having a pin tail too, shouldn't bounce much in turns.

How much is something like that...?????

If you are going to get a custom board or build one, why do a 5 minute paint job, it's the first thing everyone see's. it's like buying a $500,000 sports car and getting a white one..

Thats my OES custom board, i only got it last week. You can blame me if you don't like the spray job and colour, the choice is mine.

The board is amazing to ride, I have only sailed it once in 10-12 knot side/onshore 2 foot waves.

It still fully floats me in a glassy lull, it has that same feeling like on a one design, you just stand there and it glides in the water. It feels pretty short but on the wave due to the length. I had a few waves on it but could really power down the line due to the wind direction but early indications are that this board will rip!

I cant wait to get it in side side/off wind direction and really give it a run.
With these new designed boards, I think there is a new trend developing. Wavesailing does not need strong wind, just for the wind in the right direction.

You dont need to have a 10 foot sup to wavesail in light winds......

This board is 233 long and I weigh 92kg....

Technically you will have to pay GST as it is over $1000, you will be paying GST on the freight component as well. Not sure about Duty, there is a free trade ageement with the US but not sure if it covers this type of item.
I advise you to talk to a freight forwarder before getting it shipped, any mistakes can be costly.

Get them to quote a lower price (like $250) on the customs invoice declaration for you, "sample" works well If you get it sent through the post(too big) your allowed up to $1000 but if it's sent through freight companies anything over $250 you get slugged.

I agree Scotty - maybe everyone will see the light one day??

I'm riding a 120L dedicated wave board with 5m sail in <10 knots (non planing) and getting more waves than the SUP or surfers.
Just waiting for the day when I arrive back to the carpark and find my tyres have been slashed.

What are the other dimensions (width, tail etc)

rode my nude chopper 90 last night - 6.0 Gator - 16 - 20 knot breeze.

safe to say its a
slayOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR !

Did 3 of the sickest turns i have ever done - on one of the biggest wave boards i have ever ridden. Might have to get an 80 as well.

Only problem is that it turns so well i cant get it to throw spray - yet.

Took a bit of tuning to get the board right though - mast foot all the way back so it sits off the nose entry rocker and on the slippery riding rocker. - This made a huge difference.

Shes a twin. Still have a lot of learning to do with this board- it feels like a surfboard in the pocket of the wave.

Still love my Starboard kode 80 to death - especially in DTL lifter conditions

Had a look at his wedsite, some of the little ones are 216 long!.. NOt that impressive cause I have a freestyle board shorter than that, but still pretty progressive for a Doorknob.. Looks like he's taking length off behind the back strap, whereas I like it off the nose..

Whats the length of this custom? looks pretty long?

Intresting the position of the back strap on that green beast 72L.Its outragiously small for my 105kg but intresting...... thats if the photos correct to scale.
Then im gessing there must be a few people going hungury in the USA ressesion and all. supose it doubles up as a barrel riding surfboard gun ?
Hows about a board for us BEER DRINKING AUSSIES

sailed middleton overhead, silky smooth, xoff, 5-15kts last monday on 100 oes quad and 5.6 s1; great session (i'm 90kg). Real nice waves and never once thought "wish i could get on my small board" which is the test of any big board. Top to bottom performance, spot section and hit it with these new big wave boards & light rigs doubles time on water; agree with Scotty re new direction.

Be interesting to see how 112 goes- it has a faster bottom than my 100 which doesnt lack for speed on wave.

i reckon customs also represent great value- the carbon alone in a top end custom is more than the total production cost of many production boards as i understand; the end prices are similar, the delta being marketing, labor costs, distribution and less people taking a slice.

KOTP- have entered u in SUP race again.

That's a cool board for sure. But why do you state volume and let him figure out the dimensions? Do a lot of schlogging?
I have three boards from Moo Custom in the UK. My smallest waveboard is a quad 225x58,5 and I have no idea what the volume is. 80 maybe? We discussed what I wanted to use it for and decided on rocker, width and outline. The volume just tags along for the ride.
Volume is only in effect until you're planing. After that it's all shape and rails...

The biggest board, a quad 98 (227x64,5) is a different story. There, I want the volume for schlogging out in bad conds and the width for riding with a small sail.

I guess the shipping from the UK to you guys would be quite steep, but I can heartily recommend Jon a Moo. He has an uncanny ability of turning your comments on what you want in a board into reality.

Rode my Angulo two weeks ago.

Was noticeably more direct than the evil twin but better suited my riding style.
Was worried about the strap being right on the tail but it worked and really ripped on the wave face. Much more of a surfy feel to it for sure.

Thrusters worked really well too, didnt skip out on a single bottom turn and got some nice feedback about the graphics.

One very happy windsurfer,,,,,although could do with some more wind.......

yer the graph's look pretty cool, gotta love Iron Maiden shame a black board would only last half hour in the W.A sun in summer. I got so many paint job ideas for black boards, Just made a surfboard and painted it black with the punisher skull on the bottom, looks sick.

Anyone what an Iron Maiden board painted? i'd be happy to do it...

Custom Quad

I am intrigued with why you have chosen to go with quad fins on a kids board. And I guess this question extends to the industry as a whole. Over the last few years many manufacturers have made kids boards. It seems to me that, with the exception of Starboard, board companies are making specialist boards (like the quad fin) or advanced wave boards for kids and beginner's boards but leaving out of their range any appropriate board that kids would need to help them progress from beginner to advanced. That's like teaching an adult on a 180 l board then jumping to a 70 l wave board. They wonder why kids are not sticking to the sport!

I have a son that is 1 1/2 years older than the boy you built this board for. He is a very competent windsurfer. I have witnessed and got feedback from him and he has ridden nearly every kid's production board ever made as well as many customs. He was lucky that I could source boards for each level he was at but to do this I needed to often use boards that are no longer made or have customs made for him.

I have looked at footage of Dax and have noticed that he, until 2 months ago, was riding a Starboard kiddy 88 ,then recently a 60 l adult's Jaws gun. He isn't yet using a harness or the back footstrap. He also doesn't have an aluminium pipe as a mast like the retail Hotsails rigs do (about time).

Only a few kid's boards are exceptional, but some have some major flaws. The Starboard kiddy 88 which is best for under 11 year olds like Dax, is superior for learning to plane than the newer/larger Starsurfer and Kode which are more appropriate for over 11 year olds. The Starboard kiddy still was not ideal because of incorrect footstrap placement (which explains why Dax is not comfortable using the back strap) but anyway, it hasn't been made for about 6 years... There is nothing else in production to replace it. Same with some other great kid's boards which are no longer made and have no replacement/alternative.

I can think of a whole list of skills which would be difficult or impossible to learn using only the current range of production boards. And that's what prompts me to ask if this is the best board you could build for what Dax needs to learn next? I did however think the dimensions of the board are spot on and the construction a sensible choice.

So, why 4 fins? Why not 6 ? My guess is - it's not this year's fashion...
