Adelaide is boring the **** out of me!
I've just been looking at some of Maris' photos of Pt Lincoln and Elliston. Peter Ross from OES in Pt Lincoln has put up some awesome pics too.
How about a road trip over there to get some waves? I don't think it takes that long to get there now with the ferry from Wallaroo.
2 or 3 car loads... 2 or 3 days...
Anyone keen?

If the wind's that light you can have it to yourself... that was you getting worked in under 10 knots wasn't it?
We did enjoy watching your kite get trashed though... thanks for the entertainment!
You guys stick to Milang and leave the real stuff to us!

That's the most sense you've ever made!

Hey Chris,
Just stay on your board, she'll be right!
I'm keen, I thought a few more might want to find some waves.

Pete,
Thanks for the reply, I'll keep in touch if I can get a few of the guys (& girls) interested. I've never sailed over there, so it'd be great to have you show us the best sailing on the West Coast.

Would be good to see some more sailors out with us and also would lessen the chance of the biteys! As Pete said if you look on stormsurf we have been watching 7 day predictions come in accurate and as soon as 8foot wsw swell is predicted the beach break works, if not the bommy is always there for jumping and waves with the south east seabreeze. There are twin fin and single boards to trial from OES as i have just had a 95L TF made.

Hey Zac & Pete,
When is the best & worst time of the year over there.
If we set a date in advance what's the chances of gettting good conditions?

I might bring some MauiSails demo sails for you Zac... kidding

Best time is this time of the year, or october november when the sw winds come in on wrecked beach (mine beach at point), so we just watch reports and go with about 3-4 days forecast because most times it doesnt even blow in Lincoln but blows 25knots up the west coast. Pete and I think about 6 -8 weeks of predictable seabreezes left in summer.
Regards Zac

PS forgot, sail ezzy because breaks are often 1km off beach in bitey country, but keen to test anything on the market cheers!

Are the various breaks very far apart?
Is it best to stay in Pt Lincoln and drive to where ever it's firing or is there somewhere more convenient to the sailing spots?

i could be very wrong - correct me if I am west coast citizens - but if it's Walkers Rocks you want to sail staying at Elliston would be the go - A friends been been talking about a trip to Scaele bay on and off but never actually done it - just gets too hard to juggle things - but i'd certainly be up for it if I could get the time away from home duties - Elliston would probably be the quickest from Adelaide and central to the coast - unless you take the ferry - can you sail sheringa if the swell is smaller and northerly ?

We mainly do day trips up to Elliston in the summer months, Leaving around 12 noon, puts you on the water about 3.00pm just as the seabreeze kicks in .
If the wind and swell looks good for a couple of days we will stay up there for the night either camping in the campsite at the start of the beach or if there is a larger crew booking a cabin at the Waterloo carvan park in Eillston.
Stay in Lincoln in Winter/ Spring as the local beachs work better this time of the year, plus there is better accommodation and nightlife.
I am more then willing to answer any questions about if it going to work in the future weeks and months. If it is, you are more then welcome to join myself and the crew over here
Pete.

The only time I see all the crap between Windsurfers and Kiters is when one or the other drops in on forums. ie this topic was about a group of windsurfers looking for some better conditions, until a kiter invited himself into the equation!
What would the response have been if a windsurfer had done the same on the kiting forum... exactly the same I reckon, and fair enough too.
People who go looking for trouble will always find it, no matter what!

Just my 2 cents worth!

Your opinion and you're entitled to it Muzza....disappointing that it must be that way tho.

Those West coast sets look epic- hope you guys score.

I'm keen to get over there, but might have to leave it till later in the year. I've got an unexpected house move to organize in the next 4 weeks!
I think I'll hang out for Robe at Easter, which will hopefully have good conditions.
After that I'm keen as for some epic waves where ever we have to travel to find them.

If anything changes in the next week or so you can count me (back) in!

If you go over Hail make sure you get some photo's... before and after (ie with legs & without!)

All. if you want only certain types of people to come, why not keep a private email list ?. Posting an announcement on a public forum and excluding certain people doesn't make sense. How many people are going to this event??? 10 or so ???. Isn't the beach big enough ?

I don't want to come now. I reckon people will get f* off when I accidently get in their way.

Enjoy Mr Chompy.

Or, put it on a forum with a 'Windsurfing' category, such as the one you just navigated to!

Seriously, is everyone this sensitive?

Ja, would you really go to Port Lincoln?
Who cares if a kiter comes?
Asdmuzak's post are amusing, are of his opinion and I am sure are merely posted to stir the pot (or was that smoke it?)
Port Lincoln sounds like a great destination, I am keen to explore the areas around Coffin Bay, I have heard that there are some great flat water spots as well for some blasting.....

I am going sailing!
