Looks like it loves the chop. What size did you get? 2018 model?
Impressive.... does this mean the end of slalom boards??
Not sure about that but I suspect the new generations of fast freeride and feeerace boards will be more controllable and easier to sail than full on slalom boards and will be faster for general use for most of us! My Fox 105 is fantastic and a board that soaks up the lumps is so good in real world conditions

it is the 120 liter and last of 2018 production ,it definitely eats chop .i weigh about 120 kilos and the sail was a bit low on power, still got me going , this will be my 18 plus board and my 136 super sport for the lighter stuff

i don't think so jeff they still got a place for the guys that can ride them, this fox has replaced the need for me to have older boards for our conditions when the wind and bay waves get up.
Hehe sounds very old of me but my knees get very grateful for some vee to absorb the lumps. Greg that film of yours looks like such a smooth ride!

What's your opinion of the build quality of your Fox? Did you buy it new?

Looks good at Alva Greg. Could you do any long runs up into crocodile country? Was that mike out on the kite?

hi Dave, mike was out on his kite, but that was not him, mike was out on Thursday on his caveman in less wind and doing 29 knts.
the runs are not as long as they use to be ,about 300 to 400 meters

it was new from bc,the build and the shape looks good, and feels solid under foot.the foot pads are very thick and soft and great on my sore feet .the board is very suitable for the water conditions around mackay and townsville, also a stunning board to gybe
Some nice wind today in Mackay. Had a blast once I got myself sorted and on the right sized gear. Should be good again tomorrow ![]()
Mud gecko aka crenellated dugong - a good reason to not fall in!!! I was very happy I didn't see the news report till after a great session in Rowes Bay
This photo was posted on FB this week. Supposedly taken at East Point, mouth of the Pioneer River, which isn't far from my local. Local kiters' favourite beach is between there and my local so plenty of them to fill his appetite before eye balling me ![]()

Crocs , stingers, sharks. Hmmmm.... Anytime to relax n enjoy the sailing???
Statistically there's more chance of getting killed driving to the beach than while sailing, so nothing to worry about really ![]()

Seriously it's all pretty manageable. This time of year use a bit more volume and guarantee not having too much time in the water, have the Lycra on ( I wear shoes as well) and don't sail where nasties have been seen recently. I certainly feel more comfortable falling in here than in WA! Was out at Geoffrey Bay at magnetic this morning. Blue water, warm, few whitecaps, some nice swell and a few ramps- yep plenty of just enjoying the sailing. But yes the conservative gybe and quick waterstart become de rigeur!! Winter sailing here is just something else.
had a great day sailing on the speed race board and loft rb sail, winds were about 10 to 12 knts and the water was clear and cool
Got out this arvo with Fox 140 and severne overdrive 9.4. Wind was light- 10-12 with the odd gust and I kind of thought I'd not get going... instead super fun lightwind session. Like my little Fox and Greg's medium one the 140 is really nicely put together. The ride is just fantastic it's like it's on shock absorbers, it planes ridiculously easily and the gybe is sweet. So nice in the Rowes Bay chop. It's like it was made for our conditions. Okay I wax lyrical about my Foxes ( now it's a plural) but I am gobsmacked by the boards. The overdrive goes really well with it being light and responsive for a three cam. There are tons of turtles in Rowes Bay at present which is fabulous. Water is warm enough to be getting stinger suit serious. Gotta love the early bit of the wet sseason.
Is there a windsurf shop in Cairns these days? I remember going to a store in the city centre that sold some gear, was probably about 03/04. I think it sold gear as a sideline.

Nah mate, not these days, not unless you call taking gear out of Kels shed as a sideline
shop. My wife would move the family to Darwin if there was a shop here in Cairns
. I so hate shoppping online for kit. Just want to touch it, feel it, smell it...See you in Dec #Andy@WindsurfingGear ![]()
had a good sail at Pallarenda on the new Serverne fox 120,i am absolutely impressed with this board in our conditions ,so easy to get on the plain and it handles the rough bay conditions so easy .winds were about 16 to 20 knots with some 25 knt gust,

Windy has 35 - 45 knots ESE ![]()

wind was gusty as from the s/e at 16 to 23 knts and the bay was very choppy ,took out the fox 120 l with a 6.5 ezzy lion, the board was that good i ordered its big brother a fox 140 and i am going to sell the super sport 136 .just love the feel of these boards in the rough water
