5-10kn northerly this afternoon and a late high tide so it was down to windSUP wonderland at Phillip Street for a couple of hours. Clear skies and clear water, just stunning ![]()

Agree
i didn't take my small gear. Tried with a 7m couldn't even get away from the beach - I did get wet and cold
the better sailors Pope John and visitors Rob and Dave made the most of the conditions - lovely gybes in the smooth water (comparatively) in the lee of the mainland. Was great to watch
cheers Jeff

It was a nice place to have a sail there Jeff.
Only had a short one due to having to get the kids from school, but for westerlies I think its a great. Will definitely be back for more!!
Anyone else get wet yesterday. Went up to Caloundra for a float. Current was winning the race.
Hardcore, or what!
Was not the only one on the water either. Where were the rest of you precious petals??????

Yep it was cold yesterday.....

Scraping the frost off the board as I loaded the car to go sailing yesterday
We went to RQYS to join in on Team windsurf and Green fleet race skills
Eight of us sailing - plenty of useful practice. Wind died at midday. Had to pump and paddle back in
This getting more TOW is challenging on windless winter mornings
Cheers Jeff and Max
I've dragged a mechanical windsurfer out of the shed for the last two weekends and have just hit the MX track instead. Back of the Gold Coast last weekend and little sister's track yesterday, got my pre-90 bike I restored absolutely singing now though, yeeeehaaaa! Unfortunately I am feeling every one of my 40+ years.
Not much wind on the horizon this week but tides are looking good for middle of the day gentleman's sailing on the windSUP till later in the week.
Jeff, should I ask why your boards are lying around the yard gathering frost instead of being in the shed and feeling loved ![]()

Hi Ballast, dunno who is precious im still sailing in boardies
. Had to be content looking at the slightly windy ocean from my window at work. Nooooo......![]()
All about not falling in Andrew.
Although there was some contraction when I stepped off a bit too early coming back to shore.![]()

You got it. Its such a good motivator to make that gybe or tack.
Water temp still ok though, cooler water to come. Mmmm fishing is looking good.![]()
Yep, boardies and Lycra shirt for sailing in gentleman's hours for me. A premature step off the board has your outie turning into an inie pretty quick though ![]()
Is that your office view every day?
If I were to be put in jail - the best form of torture would be a view like that from my cell.
Doesn't this mean that the Boss knows when you're really sick or not?
I hate winter!!!!
Yep thats the view. Im a Sparky, ive got it wired.
Haha. I get to pull days off to surf, sail n fish as i need. As long as my projects are on schedule. Weather like this means one thing. STOP!! SNAPPER TIME..![]()
Hey Sandstone crew, looking for tidal info on your area. Whats the time difference? From what tide station? Cheers Guys
Brisbane Bar is exactly same mate.
Anyone sailing tomorrow? I think I need to sail something, Wally if Ihave to.
Afternoon NE'r might call for an afternoon at Turner's Camp.
The wind started to hit a consistent 5+kn mid-afternoon so I sneaked on down to the Phillip Street WindSUP Wonderland for a quick sail. Got on the water about 2:30 and it was an awesome afternoon for casual cruising. Scared the krap out of a few stingrays and lapped up the serenity, clear green water and clear skies ![]()
If there's a breeze Dag, I'll repeat tomorrow ![]()
I've just had a quick look and the BOM wind model actually looks better for tomorrow arvo than today so I'm definitely sailing Phillip Street if it all comes true. Should be plenty of water from lunchtime onwards, bring a WindSUP, Wally or Raceboard unless it blows enough to get into SLW territory ![]()
