Bugger!!! Shouldn't have said suck eggs. Called home early today for bad news.
So here go's;
Friday was awesome. Southerly kept building. Was stuffed when I came back. Over to a mate's place at Toogoom for BBQ rolled pork roast and lots of drink's and catch up.

Huge breaky Saturday and shared the bank with Steve from Harvey Bay. Wind came in earlier and stronger and still south.
Both of us stoked saying "this is as good as it gets". Back to mate's place for "T"bone steak's and lots of drink's.

Huge breaky Sunday and still enough wind and just as much fun on the bigger gear. Dead flat water run's all the way from the second beacon to the last beacon. Over to River Heads with my Cousin and her Husband for some beautifully cooked Coral Trout and lots of drink's and catching up.

Huge breaky and Monday was catching up with Family that I don't get to see much and then back to my mate's place at Toogoom for lots of drink's and laugh's keeping his Wife up like we used to.

Tuesday was an awesome time in the tinnie with my Cousin Darlene and Husband Rob, caught just over ten kilo's of Banana Prawn's, and then back to their place to guts ourselves to the limit. Then lots of drink's and more good time's.

Wind constantly stayed directly south the whole time and was the best direction for there. The speed sailing there is really something that has to be experienced with the water so flat and huge runs for hours.
Sailing the bigger gear in a little less wind, I would have to say is almost as much fun with the bigger board making the most amazing sound on those ripples. Sometimes it sounded like the board was being dragged over gravel.

Soooo sad to be home and can't wait to go back again.

Part of me regret'd not wearing the Go Pro, but the other part of me was glad that people couldn't get to hear my stupid giggling while I was sailing or even having a break on the bank looking around at that beautiful place. Driving between places I was doing the same thing. Gotta do it again. Will definitely take the tinnie next time, because It would be the only way that I would rig for and use the 80ltr speed board.

Unfinished business.

Hi all,
wanted to say g'day as the wife and I heading up to Bribie for Easter. We are rank beginners (did the RQYS course a month or two back) but having a ball.

I'll be the seven footer on the Rio Long Tail (or off it as the case may be). Seems Sandstone Point our best bet, yes?

cheers, Todd

Think I'll go up to Bribie for the next two day's to add to the fitness and weight loss before I deal with all the crap.
Gunna take the long boards because I'm sailing no matter what.

Hi Legroom,
I'm not sure where I'll end up tomorrow. It's most probably going to be Bongaree for some "me time", but who knows.
Sandstone Point is the place for you with the high tide's in the middle of the day. Stay away from the rock's.
Anyone else going to be there to show him?

Yep, I'm just hanging out over easter and will try to get in a few sails on the WindSUP. Perfect tides for learning at Sandstone or anywhere in the passage Todd. Definitely head down to Oxley Place at low tide with an ice cream Todd and go for a walk, you'll see the reefs and the white posts that Adam has put in as markers.

Looks like there could be enough there now for the 140Ltr & 8.5m & 52cm fin.
Will head up when I finish my coffee.
Is Adam away? I'm anxious to find how he got on with that Futura.

Hi JEFF,
Well done on your 3 carve gybes. They'll just get easier and easier!
I was up at the Lake on Wednesday and Thursday and sailed out of the yacht club.
Wednesday was good on my 6.5 but Thursday was a little calm. Practised gybes, heli tacks and cowboys!
I came to Elanda on Thursday morning to catch up but didn't see anyone. Maybe it was a bit early and my son didn't want me to go knocking on anyone's door. If you were in that caravan by the water with all the sails rigged up outside then you have my son to thank for not having an extra two mouths for breakfast. Pity I hadn't been out with Dag or I could have at least brought along a few kilos of prawns!

Hopefully you'll get it back. I left my boom on a rock wall at Boreen Point on Wednesday night and didn't realise until I tried to rig up on Thursday morning. It wasn't on the rock wall and it hadn't been handed in to the sailing club or the shop. Long story short it had been picked up and stored in a shed for safe keeping. Thanks to all that helped find it and for the shed owner who kept it safe.

Less than 10 knots and a lovely day at the beach today so time to drag out the Wallys and the WindSUPs. Very pleasant sail with Darren and Tony and we were joined by Todd and his partner "xxxxxx" (i'm so sorry i've forgotten your name) up from Brissy for a weekend on Bribie. I'm so impressed that Todd and his partner have both done the RQ windsurfing course and then gone to see Simon and be kitted out with the perfect learning gear from his shop. Learning is so much easier with the right gear. They were both sailing more confidently in just a couple of hours at Sandstone, luckily Dags is a coach and offered them the same tips that he gives us so a great afternoon was had by all. Finished off with a couple of Coronas in the sun sitting on the sewage tank overlooking the beach like lizards, happy days

Bloody lovely day! Ya gotta have a Wally or a SUP (I lean toward the Wally). Why stay at home instead of a day at the beach?
Great company and beer's, and great to have yet another induction to the Sandstone Mob. Todd and Maryanne have definitely got the bug, and will need to re-think their; car, trailer purchase, budget etc in no time.
Hope we see you back guy's.
Cheers.

What a friendly crew at Bribie! Thanks for all the tips Darren. Maryana rated it her best day on the water.

We couldn't make high tide today so got adventurous and launched from Bongaree bout 2pm. Made it across the channel and then had a ball sailing out from Sandstone Point. I ** myself when I saw a bloody big tail fin in front of me. Reckon whatever it was attached to was bigger than my Rio. Muddy brown colour. Hope you can reassure me it was a Dugong, else I'll be a bit nervous out tomorrow!

There's all sorts of sea life around there Todd, including sharks. Adam had an encounter with a big tiger shark a few weeks back but we thought he was just trying to get us to stay out of the water so he could do more km than us. I've seen a couple of bull sharks and Adam has shown me a video he took of a feeding frenzy near those rocks out the front of the car park so they're there. I guess just do the basics and avoid first and last light and I personally try to avoid the water when it's real dirty like it is at the moment. You've gotta be pretty unlucky though, just don't fall off. It was nice meeting you and Maryana, you guys are getting the hang of it for sure. Not much wind for the next few days so I won't bother sailing so I'll catch you guys when you're next up our way.
