Was nice to get "back" into business this arvo. (See what I did there?)
You didn't look too handicapped, ripping as usual......
Pretty nice weekend hanging off the boom. Surprisingly good warm up on Saturday followed by a good 5.0 workout Sunday blasting out my bad behavior from the night before. note to self; eat something before I attempt to drink the entire top shelf ![]()
Thnx Shifu for throwing me the keys to your intercontinental rocket ship on Sat. Been many years since I've grappled with a 7.5, pointed that high or run that deep & fast. Very nice 'point & shoot' set up mate!

I am ready to approve any purchases you want to make in respect of new windsurfing equipment.
I wish whoever it is who comes to my house and punches the shizz out of me every night after sailing would give it a rest.
Feeling a little fragile today.
Could have something to do with the fact you were on a 6.5m yesterday whilst I was fully powered up on my trusty 4.2m.
Saturday ? Sau on his new 5.7. Very nice Mr. Horrible. ![]()
That's Saturday.
Very nice Haggar. ![]()

A surprise session that was simple fantastic. Had that blast for many months. Didn't think I would ever use it :)
Hi All, Just to let you know, I was the guy who lost his board and rig (separately) off the southern point yesterday. Board turned up that night at settlement cove, and the rig this morning at the same spot. Rig was pretty roughed up, but got it all back. Tough end to a great session. Security guards at settlement cove were great, as were the police.
Some lessons learnt... It got loose after 1.5 hours of solid sailing. I saw it come loose and tried to get back with mast pressure to keep it in. It came out over a bump and the board detached downwind and kept going. Instead of swimming the rig to the rocks (about 100m away), I tried to chase down the board, which was moving fairly fast, so I lost them both. Luckily I had a bouyancy vest on so was never in substantial personal danger.

Been a few close calls lately mate, glad to hear you made it back & got your gear back too. Might be a different story in a S/E.

Glade to hear you and your gear got back. I had boom head rope failure the other day, but lucky for the help from Dan, was able to rebuild and sail in.

Glad you got the kit back mate, if that happens again best to get the board if you can and paddle in. Its happened to me before but luckily I had a mate see me and help me do a repair on the water.
The problem with buoyancy vests is that whilst they float you, they make swimming at a speed faster than a sinking brick quite hard. Catch 22 situation when chasing boards![]()
Yep, that's what happened. Still worth it (to wear a vest).
I should know better - I used to race A-class cats, and when you capsize, you always keep a hand on something, since once the wind gets it, it's gone.
Been epoxying holes and patching the sail yesterday, so should be back on the water this afternoon.
Will we get 5m swells?

If we do Bribie Island at GB end will be breached...
New bar on the way.

Scary crazy out in the northern bay this arvo. Me & my 4.0 against nature, I am beat up but in one piece

You crazy, hardcore, sailing maniac!
Really good photos Haggar....... And very nice sailing Brent in that mess. It looked wild when I drove past.
4.0--you own a sail that small...
What's the damage like at QBN? Much erosion, sand loss, debris?
A fair bit from the banks perspective.

It's happened before and it will happen again. Hopefully all that sand is now covering the rocks below the waterline.
With any luck council will rebuild the bank soon.

The beach rebuilding has begun.
