& people ask why bother having little boards & sails you never use Years from now you don't go remember sailing that 20 knot breeze but you remember sailing the cyclones!

I can't see it following Bom's predicted path, the euro model is scary close to my thinking, hope im wrong. From what we saw at top of Moreton a few weeks ago there's been crazy high offshore water temps to keep it angry too.

Olskool Gestie was one of the few I saw that sailed the last cyclone that stopped by.

i just sold my smallest board.... what was i thinking. where are you sailing for this one MK

Which day, am off now til Sunday- thursday & sunday have to sail local here, VP or Manly. Was maybe thinking of trying Beachmere on Friday. Saturday no idea... wherever depending on rain. Let me know where you thinking of heading. I imagine i'll get smashed, still havn't sailed much since we last spoke.

Queens could be an option but I imagine the sweep would be crazy?

Might have to change spots last minute if the police say no sailing again, protecting us from ourselves has only increased since last time.

Olskool I cant remember anyone taking pics until the afternoon where the focus turned to speed. In the morning high tide it was just the news complaining about how irresponsible we were. On the reef at wello it was just fun mountains of water, unfortunately there isn't enough east forecast this time for that

Not sure Mk. Was thinking sandstone but not keen on driving too far if the conditions are crazy. I got stuck in Byron for 3 days chasing a swell event with my camera. Flooding being the issue.

vp is fairly safe in a s wind all thing considered.

Bribie Is. is only about 50m wide where the old lighthouse used to be. About 3-4 m above sea level. Was there when they pulled the lighthouse down. Left the pylons to shore the beach up. 16m into the sand. Otherwise itd definately break thru. Theres another location where its possible to break thru. In a bay across from Powerboat club. Its only 1-2m above sea level. Have seen it washing across there in much smaller event than Oma. All trees in that location are already dead.

Let kookiemonster know, he's pretty into sailing down that way now & loves photo opportunities I'm out for that stuff, until I get back down to fighting weight/fitness so havn't been able to join him.

He's probably following this thread though.

I just hope it doesn't dissapoint us all at the last minute windwise. Love to do some Gps PB'S at GB again!!!

my hope is the narrow piece of land at bribie gets washed away creating a new bar similar to what it used to be like back in the day.

used to be an amazing spot to sail.

Yep i hope that happens! would love for GB to be how it was in 80's and 90's - happy times!

latest track map out.

ec, gfs and bom have Oma approx 100km eastish of fraser by sun/mon after starting to move NW. Depends on what the high pressure system to the south does.
still a few days to go so anything is possible.

Might be some left over explosive ordnance devices left there from years ago, i suggest steel cap thongs.

I've already had two awesome sessions off Oma!

Both at beachmere

yesterday started on 5.2 and 99 quad, quickly changed down to 4.7 and had a sick cross on session jumping, looping, blasting

then this morning dawn patrol 5-6:30am at beachmere balls to the wall on 4.7

looking forward to more over the weekend!
