sup sail umina. Ok I stuffed up the camera, but an interesting angle on the wave.
Had a great time. Thanks Pete and Paul for joining me.

Nice going Lyndon, must get back into SUP wave sailing on the quieter days.![]()
Most activity on Saturday last weekend due to silly work commitments on Sunday. (have to keep working to buy the next foil I guess)
One of the best turnouts of new people. With some fun foiling in the afternoon.

"Ok Ok that's perfect, you've got it..... ? Hey, where did he go?

Here's the dimensions for A Windglider Daggerboard requested by by @tbatel from Portugal.
Antonio, the maximum width of the dagger board is 22mm, the widest point is in the boards dagger board case and along the thickness of the chord.

A great day of introduction to windsurfing.
Held at Toronto, but with a little help from Gosford/Saratoga, via me on a Tandem
Great work Al, well organised, and what a terrific group of young people.
PS Tandem intro available at Gosford/Saratoga. Just contact us.

Great video footage Lyndon, what a fantastic way to give new starters an enjoyable and exciting first windsurfing experience. I loved the compliation of rig drops at the end too. Great editing.

Seelegs locked into the harness and ripping on the tandem, (heavy 1sharing the ride) much more speed to be had with just a little more wind.
love this tracking thing. Hey Heavy1, is there a difference btw the grey and blue tracks?
Oh and i never knew wurfing could be so companionable! Go the tandem wurfing experience.
My tracks, including a little drive down the road and a climb through someone's yard. I'm pretty sure the drive was not the fast bit on the tracks.

Seelegs Tracks... Congratulations well over 13 knots, definitely planing. Now let's see how fast the comet is.
Congrats to Sam as well. Sorry no tracks but also planing on the "easy rider"
Looks very professional.

You're most welcome. I still need to get you the angle. But I don't have anything to measure it with. Will try and source a protractor tomorrow.
Budgie on 23/1/2020. Northerly, swinging to NW, then NE as we left. Temps up to 40 C
Wind forecast 30+. We got a mostly 18 to 22 with 5min gusts up around 27.
Emanual, first time at Budgie. Did great on Kona with 3.6m in 18 gusting to 25 plus . The forecast was 30 plus. He could have handled something a bit bigger but the forecast was daunting.
Sam, first time on proper short board. Seatrend 73 with 4.2 sail. 18 to 25nts plus. One good planing run, hurrah, Just need to get into those straps now. (this shot was early on. He was in the harness and better than this later)

Matt, always smiling as he flies past, our GPS speed team leader. Go the Budgie Smugglers.
Sam and I sailing tomorrow. Not certain where just yet. Let us know if you want to join us and help decide on destination.

Meeting at the pines at umina.
Really small surf, so should be fun for Sam and me.
Thinking windsurfer LT for sam

Thinking windsurfer LT for sam
Great day at Umina. Sam loved the clean water and he caught a small wave right away. Not sure if he knew why he sped up but hey. Sam sailed a windsurfer Lt with a 6.7 pryde atlas. With the boom at the bottom of the cut out as is appropriate for Sam it looked as if he has a 12M out on the water.
I took a 9.5 ezzy and my new extra big Kona. The board was great and I'm going to use it on my next expedition rather than the RSD2. It's very comfortable stable quick and has lots of tie-down options. Around 300 liters rather than 380 in the RSD2, but it's wider and flatter so it feels big.
We were lucky to dodge the storms. Then a storm squall came through, at probably 12 to 14 knts . I really held my breath as it went right offshore and I thought there was no way Sam would hold on. But hold on he most certainly did.
At one stage I was motoring along, playing with some little waves and looked back to see Sam overtaking me on the plane.
Next time we need some 1 to 2 footers, this time really only 1 ft max.
Oh by the way, gosh no fear. I asked Sam not to sail way out past the break at box head. We did talk about sailing over the Palm Beach one day.
No photos this time, It was too much fun to be taking photos.
Good afternoon all,
My new job and the recent Nationals has kept me busy of late, but I finally have a Saturday off to sail on. So there is a few of us meeting at Gosford Sailing Club from 11:30am tomorrow morning Sam has a new sail to try out for the first time and I may even have a new starter to join us (as long as it's not raining), so fingers crossed the weather is kind. With the Windsurfer Worlds confirmed to be in Perth starting 28-Dec-2020, tomorrow is my first day of training on my Windsurfer LT. Any LT sailors are welcome to come train with me, I' love the competition.
If you are interested in joining us for a light wind afternoon on the water, we'd love to see you. Or if you're interested in learning to windsurf come down and meet us all and find out what it's all about.
Sunday I'm back at work, but Lyndon and Sam plan to sail at Saratoga Sailing club in the afternoon. So feel free to come and join them too, they would love you to join them. The club are super friendly and have a canteen for food and drinks, so it's a great venue to sail from or view the action from even.
Great turn up for the southerly friday.
John and I sailed green point to the Rip Bridge today.
Tomorrow Saratoga sailing club from around 12md. All welcome.

I sailed LECHNER. With 9.5 raceboard. Pete foil with 8.5, Sam sailed imco one design with 6.8.
Wind was 8 knots max at first, but half way through our session built to 19 average, gusting to 27 knots, as reported be local weather station.
Pete did a remarkable job, actually pumping onto the foil in 8 knots, but still surviving on the foil with 20plus knots .
As the wind built I took the opportunity to learn much about the lechner CB up with track back. Not something Ive done much of before.
Then the wind went up another gear and we lost Sam. Petes keen eyes picked him out. I decided I was going to need rescuing if I stayed out and went got the car to retrieve Sam from the far side of the bay.
I think we all learned stuff about our capabilities today, and probably stretched thing to a new higher level.
Sam was amazig , both in how well he sailed before the gale, (right across the bay) but also in the way he calmly self rescued. Nothing seems to phase him. Well done sam.
