Fregie is a complete gun tradesman, the finished product is beautiful, and works well, his workshop is just so professional looking,
ha, the only reason he isn't celebrated more within the windsurfing community is because he doesn't do the level of self promoting as others
next time you come up, you can look/try his fins, guarantee they wont break first run, and you wont have to act weird, if you wanna do business, then just do business, no weird grovelling, eg, you wont have to create a thread to kissing his arse

hey milsy i'm not having a go at ya mate but it sounds like your glass is almost empty I have seen pictures of fregie's stuff and it look professional, and its great that he's developing a leading edge that wont wear in the conditions we sail
on the other hand I don't see him sharing with the windsurfing community
I have stuck a lot of do it your self stuff on this site and 90% guy's with an empty glass will red thumb it and call it crap, the other 10% with a full glass will say 90% of it is crap but green thumb the 10% and run with it
my next thread will be a video on resin infusion , www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/another-fin/
you can line the mold with anything you choose to prevent wear, the mold is also layed up dry and the resin pumped through , it's a fool proof way for anyone to make a fin , for the knockers they don't have to watch it , for the guys that want take on board the positives and negatives maybe they can share with us all and end up with a better finished product
call it, self indulgent , or self promoting, or maybe you can come up with a few more negative words , but what I call it is unselfish sharing of hr's and hr's of trial and era and saving someone elese costly fu-kup's , for me I like to around positive people , have a good day

mmmm, weird, bitter, self indulgent post,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Hey keef, this thread isnt about you!

As for Fergie, ahhhhhhhh, he does a lot for the windsurfing community, you need to remember the windsurfing community doesn't start and end at primbee
Fergie is truly unbelievably generous, and kind spirited, from fins to boom, mast and board repairs, all of us are stoked to have a great fin maker, great sailor, magnificent guy around

I take zero interest in your posts,
this thread was andrew asking about fins, he suggested he had, ummmmm, difficulties with your fin, and was seeking alternatives, thats why i suggested fergie, and considering your garbage gets any adulation, there should be a full blown parade for Fergies efforts in comparison to yours,

I find this comment unfair, we should strive to keep debating our different opinions in a respectful way. I know it comes from your passionate temperament, but try and control it in a public forum.

As far as fins I found the delta 21 fantastic in flat water/heavy weed, but spinning out very easily in chop. I got a Mxr 50 deg. rake which i haven't tried yet, will let you know how they compare.

Your all a bunch of bitches, lets just take it easy and remember we all love windsurfing. Maybe some opinions shouldn't be said out loud, but we do have the right to say what ever we ****ing like because we are Australian. Not every one has the same opinion so we should respect that and not take it to heart. Now here is my opinion to the actual topic.
Rexy get yourself a smaller Delta, Atleast an 18. I have been amazed with my 18 Delta slalom and has given me all my best numbers on a variety of boards with sails 6.6 and down. I have so much confidence now with the 18. Tried my 50l Isonic speed for the first time with that fin on sunday and rode it like a slalom with ease. Hope fully I will have some smaller ones coming soon from JBC and I think we can run smaller than what we think. Dont give up Andrew you will like them.

That's what happens with mine- I'm going to try silicone to fill the gap as stuff you stick on doesn't stay there. It should be great when I've got the gap sorted.

Andrew I hated the deltas to start with to , it's
Taken a bit of time on the wAter to get use to them .
Now that greg has taken the delta and refined it. , a bit thinner and lighter , it does feel nice now !!!!

Firstly I am really good friends with Greg ,
He is a true gentleman and will help anyone out
With advice and repairs. He really knows his stuff , he asks Byron and I to test his fins and we are honoured to do so , we also let anyone who want to try them do so , sick em can vouch for that , he doesn't post on here as he always staying up late at night and working weekends to keep people on the water , last Sunday I was trying to get him to come early to peel st as it was pretty windy , he couldn't make it till after lunch and the wind had backed off .
And if you speak to him in person he has no secrets about his work he is always tweaking and trying to make faster and better fins. ,
I commend his commitment to windsurfing

G'Day all, I just received a 24 Delta the other day, got on my dainty 246litre starboard start with 7.5 and 8.5 m Ezzy Chitas, with no straps scored pb's for 4 days in a row.
Yes I am new to windsurfing and yes I'm 150 kgs+ but maybe you guys are relying to much on your straps instead of having the 3 elements in unison to creat full speed?
Enough with bull****. Fergo is creating me a 26 cm delta raked back extra to put the point of resistance behind my back foot as I am such a lump, he explained the fin making options and all contributing factors. A true artist with his knowledge and finish is pure. And it won't break!
It cost me a bit more but I know I've scored already with the technical knowledge shared by John.
A true professional that requires no self promoting, I tell you when I add 20 Knots to my PB it'll be because of him!
Life is great give a thought to all the less fortunate!!!!!!!.!.

PPS- To sail with the PEELY guys, even as a novice you can see so many quality high speed jibes and tacks, long bare offs then recovering there ground.
If your having trouble come sail with the boys they'll give you the drum!

ok I deserve a red thumb for the sarcastic reply but it was put up there to give you people something to think about
if you have a close look at your board you will notice minuet wear either side of the front of the fin , now with the deltas doing excessive speeds of over 35knts there is movement in the fin , when your fin lets go and recovers there is movement in the fin , there for I haven't found anything that will stay put at the tip of the fin
the only way your going to sort the problem out is with fiberglass,
what you need to do is stick something on the board that the glass wont stick too , then sand the fin , get some glass roving's and lay them along the board , then stick the fin in the box and screw the fin down(not tight) , now you stick some masking tape along one side of the fin and move the roving under the fin and screw the fin down until the back of the fin is flush with the board
what you will find is most of the excess resin has been forced out leaving mainly glass , don't try and trim the excess glass because you will break the bond on the tip , the best tool to use to clean it up is a file and a Stanley blade

mick flat water and weed will give you a faulse sense of security , don't say you haven't been warned , most guys on deltas at primbee were bitchin , mike thomo had a few scary moments , roar was going to stop sailing because of constant spinout
if your thinking about going smaller than a 17cm don't bring it to primbee
don't get me wrong there is some flat water at primbee and guys are still doing 40knts, but you wont see those guys using dalta's

I just wanna go to Peel Street to meet Frothie! This fellow is the most enthusiatic sailor on Earth, and his progression in a such a short time has been amazing. Well done champ.

It's said the best sailor in the World is the one having the most fun. So Mr Frothie, leed the way mate

Ok, back to fins. I'm gunna have to try one of these fancy Delta's everyone raves about. Hopfully Jordans Boating Centre can loan me one on my next foray to Queens. I'd be inclined to try a size slighty large than the guns use to compensate for my lack a skills. Would still be way smaller (and perhaps faster?) than my 34 cm JP weedie I'm currently using.
