No, I setup target for lucky windsurfer, first to break 60 knots barrier.
One day it will happen.Maybe even this year.
Don't need to be so sarcastic. It is just like Christmas wish.

2013 it was 30 Kittens. I'm at 35.5 on my 122 now. I want 40 this year.

I want to crack 35 Knots 2 sec peak (without having to buy a 6.2) and a decent alpha 20 +(clear all my previous bests out) hopefully containing any knee jerk spending

Jas, next time out together we are going to smoke that 29.95 and leave it in an unmarked grave I promise

48 knots 2 sec like Daffy, but I need a faster fin than the KA20 to go any faster. Searching for one now....

A 40knot NM at Lake George would be good too!

Hey, Chris, Spotty, and Tony did 50kts on that fin! Maybe us smaller guys don't have the horsepower to drive it that fast?

^^ Me too and don't get me wrong it's a terrific fin, but the design is over 6 years old, the chord is very wide and the drag is high. I find it holds me back in ideal conditions and I'm looking for a slipperier fin with lower drag and more technical advantages. The KA is brilliant at stability but not top speed for lighter sailors such as me. It's taken me a few years to work this out but new fins emerging on the market are better.

I'll keep you posted. Daffy, where are you getting the Locky fins from? I'm looking at MXR Wide 30 18cm symmy too.

I seem to be improving by 3 knots per year: 24, 27, 30 and now 32.5, so I guess I should aim for 35!
35 seems to be the new 30 in that it takes a bit of a technique breakthrough to get there.

My immediate aim is for a lovely smooth fully planing gybe.

... broke the 34 knot barrier yesterday, so I'm getting there!

I'd be happy to break the 40knt wall. I have knocked on it twice with 39.02knt and again at 39.64knt peak and then a 40 5x10 would be nice.
I'm not holding my breath

Didn't take you long Bendy - well done.

Maybe to develop a system for characterising chop? This would allow speed comparisons in less than ideal conditions. Could be difficult, maybe impossible.

In the meantime to crack a 30 knots 2 sec at my new favourite speed sailing spot of East Corrimal. ( I'm at 29.25 ). The swell is relatively clean here, a great place to go for it. Some days are better than others ( the swell can get messy sometimes.)

Here's the track from my 29.25 knot effort. The nearest upwind obstacle to wind and wave action is Lord Howe Island 850 km to the NE. That parameter will of course have to be included in the chop characterisation formula.

My. Current records are;
36kts. 2 Second Peak?
34kts. 5 x 10 Second Average?
20kts. 1 Hour?
23kts. Alpha Racing 500m?
27kts. Nautical Mile?
117km. Distance Travelled.

I might set a stretch for 40kn peak!
Although that will take some pretty good conditions, or some travel to find them...

36 5x 10
25 Alpha
25 Hour
200 km distance (sore just thinking about it)
30+ NM (no gybing)

Got it! 41 at Sandy Point on a Carbon Art Slalom 55wide.
45 is next, 40 5x10, 100km, i'll give myself a couple of years though. Got a speed board for Lake George so we'll see!
Anyone else reached their target. Good thread.
