I've never sailed foreshore before. What's the deal with rigging there? Is there any grass at all, or is it sand / gravel on the roadside?
sand and gravel....oh and plenty of CREEPY PERVERTS to help you carry your rig to the waters edge!!!!![]()
Hi guys,
Last NW I headed to Kurnell. Its a bit lumpy as its cross-on to the beach. Not really a speed location.
David
anyone up for an early morning blat tomorrow? Maybe Kyeemagh or Sandringham in the SW'er?
Probably have to be very early before it blows itself out.
I'm up for an early morning run. Looks like its going to be good very early. Which location is best for a SW?
A couple of us are heading to Kyeemagh around 9ish and we'll take it from there. It all depends on how much S there is in the SW
yeah great work guys, that is a super effort and Mike a top read on the forum too mate!
Why couldn't you get Remi to join the bloody team ffs!!!!
nah I'm clean, thankfully i didn't seem to spend too much time in the water on Sunday. I was actually making most of my gybes.
Did any GPS team members actually post any speeds or am i the only one? It's a bit sad we have the biggest team in the challenge and yet we can't get more than one person to post speeds on a beautiful windy Sunday arvo out on Botany bay. To make things worse we even have people who haven't posted a single time or session since the challenge started.
Hopefully Summer might bring a few people out of the woodwork they seem to be hiding in and help contibute in some way.
Larko did you get Sam to help you with your tracks?
Yeah, true sorry Roaches! I really need to remember to take the GPS with me - even if i'm off freestyling. If i had an easy way to attach the GPS then i'd take it more often (I presently have to tape it to my arm!).
This weekend might be ok for times - I'll take the GPS out but up Nelson Bay way...

geez, those jet skiers were giving me the absolute irits!! especially the ones on the northern side of the pool. I was amazed that one guy in a small boat actually waved to me to say sorry that he had impeded my course. First time I've ever had that happen.
Out of interest Dav what gear were you on?
Hi guys,
Sounds like you all had a good day. I was unfortunately landlocked in Singleton for the weekend.
Looking forward to daylight savings next week.
David
Hi David, that must have sucked big time. Fuuny that we're all excited about DLS and on the general thread here there's a debate over how many people particularly over on the west coast are dreading it.
I'm all for it, love my nor easters after work sails!

Sorry guys, Rick, Sam, Mike and I were all at Jervis Bay racing. The wind wasn't consistent enough for slalom so it was formula all day, so no special speeds from us.
I saw you sailing around Dav. I was on a gun wave sail..
I had a bleedin jet skier spray water onto me out of the jet from about a metre, lets just say my response wasn't friendly.
I had lots to do but made it out late. Nothing special, just 27 and 28's. Wind was way too gusty to string anything together.
Rex, havent had any luck with tracks, got a heap of them.
Im up at Jimmy's Beach this weekend so lets hope for some strong nor-easters and some runs.
Can anyone help with downloading??
awww aint it romantic, I can just see it now, Larko waving at Crash across Port Stephens, a setting sun, faint breeze blowing.....![]()
glad im not the only one with welts from Botany, i got catapulted & landed on top of a jellyfish
, soon to have it wrapped around me, set a record time for getting back onto my board.
Wasn't impressed with all the stink boats either, we should throw rocks at them. Had a few 27-29knot runs through the day which mostly made up for the tangle with the jelly.
HI KA43.
I'm up at winda woppa this we, see you on the water I hope, but the forecast doesn't look too good.
Des
Gidday Des,
I cant seem to make any sense out of the forecast, it keeps bloody changing.
I was thinking of staying Monday but now Friday looks better. Ill make a last minute decision tonight I reckon.
Are you going to sail up to the spit from the Boulevarde??
Rexy, the faint breeze will be howling on Sunday so I will be hanging on, no time to wave at Crash except after we have finished sailing and the frosties are opened and watching another perfect sunset at Jimmy's.
Yep no probs with sailing across Crash, you can launch from shoal bay and only have to work a little bit upwind in order to make it across.
There can be a current running out through the heads which you need to be aware of and our advice would be to go the floaty option board wise just in case.

Nice, thanks for letting us know.
Can you sail right across the bay?
