At the risk of putting the mocker on it, it actually looks like we could FINALLY get some wind in Sydney on Saturday. Hopefully we can get a decent roll out of guys to meet somewhere and all post some speeds for the challenge. If we're lucky we might even fluke the southerly for low tide which means getting down to Sandringham if at all possible.
Anyone keen?
Warm & N-E for Wed.![]()
Westerlie on Thurs - watch out for new signs, no U-turns on Foreshore Rd![]()
& had walkway to water blocked off last week, maybe a meerkat cleanout![]()

Would love to get out but I really need some wave sailing practice before the Woopi comp! Might try to get out on Sunday with big kit though. Today looks good ![]()
Anyone get out yesterday arvo??
I had a quick one after work and had some good runs testing the new sail. Pretty light but managed a couple of 28's.
Hey Larko,
I went down to Kyeemagh, almost rang you to see if you'd be going after work and I would have come to Narrabeen. I got out on my RS4 for the first time and on the first run pulled a 29.8. Couldn't believe how easy it did it. Unfortunately from there the wind dropped and became pretty gusty but it was great to be out finally.
Bring on the southerly on Saturday!!!
Hey btw Larko, you going to post your speeds? We may as well put something in and get on the board for the month...
I actually have a couple of sessions which were 20 minute after work sails in the dark (nearly) pretty mediocre though.
I still dont have the opportunity to download to computer so if anyone can help that would be cool.
Saturday maybe for me but definitely Sunday.
So whats the crack for tomorrow? I'm still tempted with Long Reef for some cross-on, but if there's going to be a load of roaches at Botany maybe i should head there. Will you all be out at Sandringham or Kyeemagh? Sandringham looks pretty gusty/boring, Kyeemagh's got much better ramps for jumping!
The tide is low this morning, but with the wind this south you won't be able to stay near the bank.
I'm thinking maybe just hit Kyeemagh unless it turns a little more west.
think I'll probably still cruise down there and check it out though, you never know. Gimme a call on the mobile if you reckon Kyeemagh is still the go.
See you down there!
I sailed all 3 days along with a truckload of other sailors at Narrabeen. Had some great fun and it was nice and warm. Had a few good drags with the boys. Monday was out of control for the gear I had. Also had a run in with a flathead and my fin. Out of action for awhile. Can someone download my data for me??
Hi there KA43. Was that you at Kurnell with the Green NP Combat sail on Monday? I think I spoke to you as I was coming in.
Might be wrong but I don't think KA43 would be riding NP stuff.
He's a Gaastra/Maui sails guy - unless he's gone to the dark side?

Got that right Dave.
Nah, not me Katapult. Last time I used a green Combat was last year in Maui. I have Maui Sails gear.
I was at Narrabeen treading on flatheads.![]()
What's the deal this weekend? BOM saying 20-30 knots, Seabreeze saying 18 absolute max!
Grant, is there a wave spot on the Northern Beaches for DTL in a NW-NNW?
Only if all the planets line up perfectly and some one wins Powerball.
If you are lucky you can sail Collaroy from about the Vacant Lot and down to the pool. The wind HAS to be from the right direction or if its too much west in it the plateau stuffs or the unit blocks make it swirly.
Ive sailed it a couple of times awhile back out from the car park at the surf club and it was fun but geez you have to be right there.
I think you would be really lucky if you got waves and DTL.
But hey, anythings possible!!!!!!!!!!
All pray![]()
I've seen NW on the news just now....does that mean Meerkat or is Narrabeen better? I've given up on Palm Beach
Too far to drive for no wind
