John340 said..The recent Raceboard Worlds on a Moreton Bay use a real time tracking system that worked really well

Very interesting! Does anyone know what the system was and who supplied and ran it?

TracTrac. The following is a URL from their website

www.tractrac.com/web/about/

Also try the following URL which has TracTrac files of all the races
www.tractrac.com/web/event-page/event_20161120_RaceboardW/942/

No offence Matt, but you have access to Spotty's logs, why haven't you studied them to make you faster? Could it just be plain and simple that he is a better sailor??

It could be a few reasons - he *is* a better flat water sailor than me. He is more than 50% heavier than me so his net-leverage is so much greater than mine.

Whatever the reason, *I do* study other people's tracks -> I studied, Mal Wright's tracks, Slowey's tracks, Spotty's tracks, Daffy's tracks, ... and even my own. I learnt quite some time ago, that accelerating to speed early/high up the course, results in faster speeds down the course -> so I now make that a priority vs say finding extremely-flat water.

hey guys ... It's true that introducing data device for Live GPS speed is quite expensive but we are working on it ... and indeed the phone + sim solution is the easyest and cheapest way ... On Live soon ;)
