Love the 5 batten Severne custom sail. What size is it and want mast did you need to use to get it to set so well for someone so light?
Firstly before I forget again what this topic was actually all about,
Daffy you are a legend and not because of an age division!
Alex and I would greatly appreciate you (+Spotty and others) for giving Alex the lowdown, advice and encouragement while we were at Sandy Point. Alex recognises a windsurfing legend instantly and absorbs every word of advice. We should be back down your way straight after new year and hope to sail with you again.
YOYO- Alex's sail is a 4.2m hand made by Ben Severne himself. It rigs on a 340/11/60% that weighs 1.1kg .Ben is in the process of making Alex a matching 3.2m and 5.0m .The XS-1 sails rig on a 300/10 and only 950g ,which makes them in a league of their own ,no other kids rigs come close.
JIMBOB SA- Alex is using a C3 venom 23cm which Carbon Art supplied with the board. It worked well, but the windward rail was starting to lift. I think in stronger wind I think it will be too big. So yes we would be very interested in an 18,thanks very much for thinking about us.
Alex reached a speed of 25 knots in 16-18 knots of wind with the 4.2. He should be able to hold that size sail till 24-25 knots and a smaller fin will stop the board from lifting with his light weight and hopefully crack the elusive 30.
