Windsurfer LT .
if you are bidding on this it does have heat damage and is soft under skin in this area.

I have contacted llyods re posting but as auction ends in 2 days does and I can not wait for a reply on Monday any WA people know the postage costs/calculations that Lloyds uses.
It's pretty frustrating being located so far from the auction site especially when being flat at work Monday and Tuesday means zero chance of being able to pickup. You'd think Lloyds would offer a pack and send service for the larger items, I'd be prepared to pay for that. But I guess it's no more frustrating than an interstate seller on SB buy and sell who advertises 'pick up only'. Limits their market somewhat I would have thought.
Anyway, good luck to those who are close enough to inspect and pick up, hope you get some bargains, just hope it doesn't impact too much on the Qld retailers. ![]()

No takers yet!
Get a bargain then chip in what Lloyd's postage is and get it hand delivered.
No brainer if you are bidding from the West. Yep I'm in!
Hell, chris would probably drop it to you anywhere along the way home to WA.

Hi Chris I admire your determination.
Am I interpreting correctly that your going to make a quick trip from Melbourne to Gold coast return and then head back to WA.
Do you realise how far this is.?
As previously discussed Loyds are doing a dirty s scam by not provided more accurate pictures.
The condition of these items is a huge gamble for anyone not being able to view.
Anyway if it all lined up you would have plenty of customers between VIC NSW and WA. Including myself in Melbourne but I don't think I'm willing to take the huge risk on the condition of these items.
Anyway good luck and hope you get some cheap gear.
Got a reply from the auctioneers if you are intending using a courier such as e-go see below. I'd be a bit wary on the auction site estimated shipping quotes, same brand boom same size one lot says shipping $30 the other lot $400, reckon they got there measurements wrong.
Email from auctioneers:
Good afternoon Nick, Thank you for your email. We are most certainly able to do this for you. If you are having another courier collect your good all you need to do is email through the labels one or two days before the collection is being made. We will also package everything we can to ensure everything arrives in great condition. Kind regards,
Sara

For the WA peeps if you have any friends/relatives in qld who could collect wa peoples goods and package up and drive to Gold coast airport or Brisbane airport I could get it freighted to Perth cheaply. Sorry small stuff only no boards.

Create an account, login, then you can get an instant quote for the small items .. everything seemed to be about $18 each for the small items ... not sure what happens if you have say x3 small items combined .. hopefully still in the $18 fee ... not $18 x 3.

Great Info thanks. Any others to stay away from?

Col5555. Chris here in WA is flying over to drive his (empty) van back and will happily bring kit, boards masts sails any kit back. Cheaper than courier if he has a full van. See his post from Friday

FYI.
1/2 tempted to put a bid in until I saw the stock photos. Any auction house that can't do the work of a photo and an accurate description of the item should be viewed as a scam. Sad that this laziness still exists in the industry
There are (albeit small) other photos on each listing of the goods. You just need to click on the other image any of the boards or gear I looked at had top and bottom images, not amazing but they are there. Lloydes will be under contract to raise the maximum they can for the insurer whom they are selling for as re-insurers. Yes its a risk the gear may be **** or it just might be the bargain of the century and at the prices as they stand its probably work the risk.
Im conflicted as I feel very sorry for Sam and Chris from the shop who's stock is going under the hammer. However hopefully WSS have had their claim paid out and are net neutral or close to. I feel sorry for them and the rest of the retailers who may not sell some gear as the market may be flooded by someone else's stock at literally fire-sale prices.I would hate for there to be no bricks n mortar shop here in Sydney (esp. as other citys and states seem to be able to support retail). But a bargain is a bargain, business is business. Im broke and unable to work at the moment so I can't take advantage of any of this, but if anyone (or any groups of Sydney siders) are interested I have time on my hands and if you pay for a van rental and fuel Id go pick up for the adventure.

better start driving now ... only 17 hours to go.
For sure some sailors need to fill a gap in their quiver but is it really worth all the fuss if you don't really need it. Some of the gear is getting close to what you can buy locally.

Wow you must get good value in QLD!
Auction day has arrived..."Let the fun begin!"
Good luck for those who win a 'lot'. Commiserations for those who miss out.
... and let's hope it's not the other way around. ![]()

Yep, but don't really need it so will leave the others to it now it's getting over what I thought it is worth to me.
maybe just get a wetsuit ![]()
Wetsuit.. hmmm the fumes will be in that for months.. make you chuck every time you sail.
Speaking from experience of buying some jackets once from a fire sale.
I had a look at the boards the other day and while I didn't look at every single board the ones I did look at (Fanatic Grip mainly) where toast. Yeah pun intended. They don't have fins and don't even have the vent plug in them and are covered in soot and crap. I could only guess at what has gotten into the board. I didn't see any there that I would even consider buying for the prices they are getting up to plus the action fee. I had a quick glance at the other boards walking past and most looked to be similar condition. On the other hand the fins, mast extensions and uni's etc look fine. Most are in original plastic packaging that wasn't even melted. They are also getting too close to what you would pay for a pristine item from a shop that hasn't been on fire by the time you pay the 22%. I'm not saying there's nothing there worth bidding on but geez I would be careful.
